I'm a young alumni of 2 years and have just found out that none of the 20 or so friends I have that are still in school were able to secure a ticket to the game. I'm very disappointed by the fact that tickets to the game are not available for students that want to go. My old roommate is a 6th yr SR who has only missed 1 game and he's gonna watch it on a 19" tv in his dorm room.

I say we pack them in and let them cheer. The louder, the better.

It's pretty freakin simple.
Don't be a LOSER, "I'm too cool to join an organisation."

If you bothered to be in BLOCK SEATING, then you got tickets.

Student DON'T SELLOUT THEIR ALLOTMENT for every other game, and you wanna bitch and moan about not going to the BIGGEST HOME GAME in 10 YEARS.

Join a fraternity, make friends in a fraternity, join AASU, TBPi, ASCE, ASME, AiCHE.

All those pretty girls in yellow sundresses, sure as hell didn't sit out on BOBBY DODD WAY last saturday night.

CRY ME A RIVER, LIBERAL!!!

Many fraternities did not get enough tickets and most blocks didn't get tickets. The group of friends I described are in the same block I was in for my 3 years at Tech. My block always camps out for big games. All groups appear to have been left out equally.

I don't care about the people who normally don't go to games, but I think it really sucks that a lot of good fans that are students didn't get to go. I think in the least, students who physically camped out should have received a ticket.

Get over yourself. I only posted about this because it was a unique situation that may have been botched (rumors) and in my case, drastically changed my gameday experience. I wasn't looking for a rant on how people normally get tickets.

I've posted this before but there are simply means to solve this if people will forget about "traditions" and camping out and all that crap. MD has a very simple, equitable means of providing student tickets. How early you ask for them, how many loyalty points you have (how many events you've attended), etc determine whether you get one or not. Your ticket prints in your room (email link I think) with your name and barcode. To get in you present the ticket with your student ID. Both barcodes have to match or you don't get in.

That system means those who've been loyal get in, and that no one can sell their ticket. My daughter saw almost every MD basketball game in her 4 years there. I don't know if they have block seating, but it's certainly something that could be accomodated with a little ingenuity.
