stupid announcers

the espn C crew did another great job on the game this week. There were probably a dozen or so factual errors.

First off they still don't understand the offense. They kept calling Dwyer the fullback. that was about a dozen instances

they called tyler grisham a halfback--hes a WR

they said that jaybo was hurt during the Gardner Webb game....

it goes on and on.....i've done work with ESPN and CBS and i know the week before a game they hand out three folders--one for each team-and one on the series...come on pathetic announcers...read a little..

The B Back is a fullback, and was referred to as a FB even when PJ was at Navy.

Jaybo was hurt during the GW game.

Not a big deal.

I do have a pet peeve though that they seem to call anything involving a wide receiver taking a hand off/pitch a "reverse." Not just for us, but just in general.

God I hate this. It is ridiculous that all these former players and coaches don't know the different between a reverse and an end-around.

he says..... "jaybo shaw is back, he was hurt early in last weeks game against Gardner Webb"

No, they said something like Jaybo got hurt during the game, so they had to bring in their third and fourth string quaterbacks. They also mentioned Josh missing the "previous game", not the past two.

Actually, now that I think about it, GT announced Jaybo as the starter last weekend, so this may be on them. At least they introduced him as the starter during pregame introductions.

You guys worry about the wrong things. This is a byproduct of not having a lot of national attention.

I heard Mark May say Clemson blew an 11 point lead after the game and I was like "huh?" He obviously didn't watch the game.

I guarantee you those announcers probably know the names of all of USC's skill position players.

The only way we'll get respect is to take it. chill out

AMEN!

I caught that one too. I didn't even hear the rest of what he said because I was sort-of like, What did he just say? Huh?

I like Andre Ware, but the announcing for this game was appalling. I have never seen so little attention paid to the game at hand. Frequently they ignored entire plays, and often had no idea what was happening. They talked about anything and everything except what was happening in front of them.

I blame ESPN on the coverage, not the announcers. It was obvious with all the footage of Swinney patting the rock and what not that ESPN wanted to shove it down our throats that Clemson has a "new sheriff in town". I don't believe the announcers had much choice but to talk about what ESPN was going to show everyone.

Exactly. For every instance of them actually detailing the happenings on the field, there was another plug for "Andre's Ware It Out" and Swinny was given more time on the camera than anything else. Any time they should have been showing replays of close plays or potential penalties or anything else, they were showing Clemson's coach and discussing whether the roll of a head coach should be the CEO or the teacher.

Typically the 7:45 PM team on ESPN makes for pretty good announcing, but this nooner squad was utterly atrocious.
