I am going to make the Tech game against Jax St. and turing it into a full weekend of football to then go see GSU UPSET UGA (bigger upset than Crap state and michigan) I just wanted to ask if there were any suggestions about where I should buy tickets or specific things I should do for my first ever tech game?

For the Jax St game I wouldn't worry too much about tickets..should have no problem scalping for 5-10 bucks each.

Definitely get there as early as possible to tailgate, and if it's your first time definitely check out Yellow Jacket alley.

Wear gold, and eat varsity if you think you can handle it. haha

If you're a drinkin man definitely bring a flask of bourbon. You can get 14-16oz plastic flasks at mack's liquor on 10th st for a couple bucks.

Drink, go to the varsity, drink more. You can make it to the Shaft to see the band play before they march down the hill. They still do that, right? That was always one of my favorite parts of gameday.

Give em hell in Athens. Although since Athens is hell, that's a bit redundant.

Well I know if you are seen near the student section wearing a UGA hat in statesboro they will all point that person out and boo them, I hope to not get the same responce wearing my GSU hat (signed by PJ).

Gold is no prob to come up with for the game, what is that about drinking from a flask? You can bring "spirits" into the stadium?!?

Yes.

The best part of the whole procession, imo, is when the drum line congregates around the library and plays for a while, while the rest of the band forms up around them. That's when I know it's gameday.

We would be proud to give you a pair of tickets for your first Jackets Game ever!

We have extras we bought for friends/family in the Nest. PM me and I will send you a pair when they arrive.

As long as you're not wearing uga colors you won't get any bad attention. And GSU attire will probably bring good attention, especially once you get to explain it's signed by PJ.

Of course bringing flasks into the game is "against the rules"...but nobody really cares. Just don't make a big deal about it. Pour it in a coke and put the flask back in your pocket. I've had staff and cops alike see me pour and not say anything about it.

This is what I like to see in my fellow Tech fans. This is how you build on a fanbase.

PM Sent, If anyone is looking for more fans to join their tailgate me and my g/f will be interested in that too!!! Thansk for the warm reception! Talking about drinking again, the only place to drink at GSU's stadium is if you own a Box, they are pretty strict about drinking outside of that though.

You won't catch heat on the flats for a GSU hat, but you will in Athens that Saturday. If you wore another ACC school or any shade of red, you'll get laughed at.

As far as the game, cheer a lot. If someone tells you to sit down for cheering a Tech first down, ignore them until the 4th quarter. Then politely give them the finger. You'll notice some sections have some pretty lame fans.

My first ever GT game was the Gator Bowl in 2006. My first BDS game was vs. BC last year. You'll love it.

You sir, are a class act. He's sending me a pair for this game too, because I won the ST basketball bracket. Thanks!

Agreed. GGGT for president!

I've seen quite the different view on that in the tailgating areas when walking around with the GSU band :fingersx: When we play for tailgaters, there are quite a few people.....enjoying themselves:p

Make sure you don't go to the bathroom at the end of the 3rd quarter.

Your first Tech game is always special. My first was against the Citadel in 2001 and even though it was a total mismatch and we destroyed the Bulldogs, it was an absolute blast that I'll always remember.

Actually, my first Tech game wasn't too memorable. I had to look it up - 30-13 home loss to Clemson in '88.

My first Tech win was very memorable though - later the same season, 34-0 over South Carolina, who was top 10 at the time. (That was actually the 2nd win of my freshman year, but I missed the first one as it was two weeks before fall quarter started and I wasn't in ATL yet!)

GO JACKETS!!

My first tech game was against FSU when reggie ball was a freshmen. I went with a group of FSU fans at that but anyway thats another story. The first 3 quarters were great then Chris Rix, i believe it was, led them to a 4th quarter comeback.

I tailgate on the west end of the new grassy bridge over I75-85 and anyone is always welcome. I believe it's the 5th street bridge.

I think you will find that GT fans are GSU fans in general. Also they will be HUGE GSU fans to start the 2008 season.

I was gonna say BOR musta 'got some' to be throwing around compliments, but that may not be enough to explain it. Perhaps it was a hot menage BOR?:wow:

Definitely arrive early as traffic for Thursday night games is terrible. Experience tells me taking a day off of work the Friday after a Thursday night home game is a must as well.
