The Sunbelt Conference is a great idea for Southern have-nots that want-to-be. It gives the teams chances to have an even conference race with the New Orleans Bowl as the dangling carrot to the league titlist. U'd figure that there would be enough talent left over in the deep South to make 1 or 2 of these teams competitive with the larger conferences, but it doesn't appear to have happened.
Troy University did upset Mizzouri 4 yrs ago & they could have built on that big W, but they haven't. U'd also figure that Troy would have more players on the Top 30 in the league with the states of Alabama & Georgia to draw from. Troy only has 2 Sunbelt Top 30 players this season.
