White out looks pretty good on TV. Anyone notice Erin Andrews is wearing a white coat!:D

I did. Bless her for trying. Too bad there's so many people in the stands that didn't get the memo.

I did. I am more in love.

The UGA people that were watching the game with me picked on Tech fans for failing at the whiteout.

When the clock hit zero I reminded them of their blackout. Better to execute on the field than in the stands, yes?

White-Out looked pretty good on the tube.

So did Erin Andrews. I'd just like to buy that girl a stack of pancakes. Maybe some nice bacon. Coffee. A little juice.

It's late.

I'm glad to hear it looked great on TV, because (other than the awesome-looking student sections) the sideline sections were a pretty awful showing.

Pretty sporadic around us, however, most sections looked white as a whole. I thought it was great!

From my vantage point it was more screwed up by coats and sweaters than many people not wearing white. I can't fault too many folks for that. It definitely got really cold after half-time.

Of course I didn't even bring a coat so that I was not tempted to cover up the white.

I went down on the sidline for the 3rd quarter and looked around the stadium. I would say it was 65% white...

This.

The first half was a little chilly, but when the band was on their way back to their seats someone just shut the heat off. We did get out of there right as the wind picked up hardcore. The second half temperatures were only tolerable because the offense was running so damn hot.

Since I sit in the upper west, I'll say the upper east looked about 70% white. The overall effect was OK, not great but OK.

The lower east looked better, say 85% white in the non-Miami section. The student sections looked like they were at 95%.

Not bad, but I think if they want to do a white out next year, forget handing out shirts. Instead buy 40,000 gold or white ponchos (which have to be cheaper than shirts). Ponchos can go over coats, so no worries about the cold.

We were talking at the game about why they didn't pass out white shakers to everybody.

If you really want to do it you need to saturate the stadium. Papa Johns needs to put coupons on some shakers like they used to and get ATT to have some white logo shirts at each gate. You got to saturate baby.

Oh and about 5-6K grumpy old people need have sit downs with CPJ.

That was the worst [insert color]out I've ever seen, but due to the cold weather and this being the first time the team has done it, everyone can get a pass. The end zones looked great, but the camera pans of the west stands was disappointing. I like WracerX's idea of passing out ponchos instead of shirts next time to save money and work for all weather. If you want your fans to wear one color, then you need to incur some expense in doing so.

Hopefully the next time the team does it, the white helmets will be ready too.
