Here's a pic of what the new jumbotron is expected to look like! You can see the ribbon screens below it too....i got the pic from the last "Good Word" with D-rad

does anyone know if the ribbon screens are only going to be in that end zone or if they will go around the entire stadium??

That's semi-cool looking, but wtf is up with the massive ad-trons to the left and right? And are those sixflags sticking up out of the top?

Welcome to the board.

I do hate to burst your bubble but this picture has circulated through here a couple of times already. Never underestimate our obsession :D

I BELIEVE, and I could very well be wrong, that the ribbon boards going all the way around the stadium will be a 2010 project.

I think we will add some ribbons, but they wont go around the whole stadium.

Also, the flags at the top wont be there.

Bah, that looks hideous. We don't need a new jumbotron, and the only sound system we need is already in the North endzone stands.

I'm willing to bet money that you've never in your life liked anything. Ever.
I liked November 29th, 2008 an awful lot. I also like puppies, rainbows, sunshine, long walks on the beach, romantic candle lit dinners and the sound of direct meteor impacts at or very near Athens, GA.

Classic.

They're adding a scoreboard where "Welcome to BDS@HGF" used to be on the west stands.

Will all this be done prior to next season?

I'm not so sure. If they were going to do this before next season I think they would of started by now. Unless they are waiting for (and think they can finish it in) the summer, it won't be up until 2010. Another reason is they might be waiting for the Nanotech build to finish, in case they don't want too many construction projects on campus at the same time.

Never once in my years at Tech did it ever cross my mind that the administration thought there was such a thing as too many construction projects going on at any given time.

state schools tend to ALWAYS have some construction project going on b/c this alleviates some tax burdens for them. this is one of the main reasons, according to someone at the GT PPlant

as far as the stadium, thats the AA and has nothing to do with the Administration

Sound system and Jumbo tron will be done before opening weekend.

I would think that the whole thing could be done in several weeks, unless some major re-wiring or structural work was needed.
