Did anybody else order tickets for Syracuse from GTAA? Have you received them?

I ordered them during the priority window a few weeks back, and the email says that they will be delivered 3 weeks before the game and also via Ticketmaster, but I haven’t received anything physical or electronic.

Curious if anybody else has received tix (and how) before I call GTAA tomorrow.

I called the ticket office this morning, and they said that Syracuse tickets will be sent out digitally no later than tomorrow (Wednesday 9/4).

Hope that’s true - seems to be cutting it a little close sending out tix 3 days before the game…

They are digital, how is 3 days possibly too close? Too close for what? Opening an email?

Too close for comfort to resolve potential issues in case you don't receive them or you receive them and they are somehow wrong.

No one wants to be dealing with that just a few days before the game when you may already be in the process of traveling.

I was originally told by the ticket office that my Dublin tix would not be available until Aug 22. My flight was on Aug 20. So I was expected to board the plane with nothing other than an email receipt to prove I actually purchased my tix. If there were any issues, I was expected to resolve them from Ireland. The ticket office further indicated that any problems would have to be addressed with Ticketmaster. From Ireland. Ticketmaster. From Ireland.

I took care of it and had my tix in my Apple wallet before I left so was able to chill and enjoy the trip. If I had been unable to take digital posession of my tix before I left, I would have been a nervous (Ramblin) Wreck.

And to the original point, if the g d tix are digital, what the eff is taking so damn long that they can't distribute them earlier?

Bc they want to wait longer so that they send it out in one batch if possible to the biggest extent

That the best for their process, not necessarily ours bc we are apparently anxious, nervous, doubtful by nature - at least you engineers

they should have considered the intl travel and likely longer lead time for trips for that ireland game, but of course there's no easy way to change the process for each separate game.

FWIW, other than a couple of instances where they returned road ticket inventory way too early and I had to buy from the home team, the GTAA ticket office always seems to come through. I’ve ordered a lot of road tix from them over the last 25+ years and can’t remember ever actually having a problem, although they have made me nervous a few times.

I accept my inner nerd and embrace my inner dinosaur but I used to get my paper tickets in June. I'm scratching my head how it is that I can buy a Ginsu knife from Japan and have it in my hand in 5 days but buy a game ticket in March and have to wait until September to receive it.

I think what's really at the root of it is fear of counterfieting. They don't want the bar codes out there for too long for fear they will be reverse engineered.

And cost. Getting a 3rd party to complete the tasks costs more for 4 mailings with sorting than 2mailings. If everyone bought tickets at the same time or before some deadline, things could be different.

Season six should be different, all six should be in your account before the season starts - that's why there's should be a deadline. Even in the old system, they had to have a process for this. If you ordered your season fix past a certain time you didnt get nice glossy art tix, you got plain gameday tix for the games.
