Talent Upgrade?

Where are the new players, either recruits from our last 3 classes or the 20 or so transfers that we gotten the last couple of years. I saw Eley starting at middle linebacker and McGowan at WR. I know we have a couple of lineman who were transfers starting. Am I missing anyone?

We largely looked like the same team from last year. I don't mean our performance, I mean the same players.

Eley lead the team in tackles and the other transfer McGowan had 1 TD…almost 2.

We are mission Keion White for the first few games at DE. Wish we had gotten some TE transfers.

The new kicker didn’t perform well, but his kicking looked like an actual improvement from last year where we were kicking 26 yard field goals directly into the snapper’s ass crack.

The punt returner transfer looked suspect. Would prefer to see Ezzard back there again.

I remain 100% convinced the only reason the PR is on the team and starting is because his brother is our #1 recruiting target.

I don't think he will end up coming to GT but it never hurts to try.

We started 2 new transfers OL, Cochran (LT) and Pendley (RT). Cochran graded out the highest of all our OL. Pendley split time with Jordan Williams, but I did notice him sealing the edge well on runs early in the game. Not sure if Kirby played (other grad transfer)

Harris (DE) and Scott (DT) played in reserve roles, neither did anything great but limited sample size and both are still freshman so they have time.

The only time I saw Kenyatta Watson on the field he ran on late to the PR team. He still had his gloves hanging from his mask, so he clearly wasn’t prepared to play or had his head in the clouds on the sideline. Not a great sign for player or our coaches — but I’m sure we passed on an ass chewing to tell him we loved him.

Rey (PR) didn’t impress. Seemed to be trying to do too much. Cimaglia (K) was 0-2 and fell down trying to kick a FG, yet it was the best kicker performance of the CGC era given all kicks made it with 15 yards of the goal posts.

Harris only came in on passing downs. Everytime I watched Harris he was double or triple teamed. Never seemed able to get through them to attack the QB

If he received that much attention and the other lineman could not get to the QB, we have a problem with the remaining defensive linemen.

NIU was running 2 or 3 receiver routes and leaving 8 into block, including 2 TE and a FB. Not shocking we didn’t get to the QB

I’m guessing you had to double check how to spell half of those.
