Saw this quote in an article on the ajc, wanted to share:

"“Most people don’t know, but Jerrard is one of the most athletic guys I’ve ever met in my life,” Dwyer said. “With him returning punts, it’s going to change the whole game for us. Big asset for the team. He’s hungry. He’s going to be shocking the world a lot this coming season."

I'm pretty excited to see what JT can do.

Not just only on special teams will he be a impact player but he will also give us a very solid DB.

I am super excited now. Whenever our special teams has taken the field in the past few years, I have never really been that excited ... actually I am usually really nervous. But hopefully Tarrant can change that for us. Let's hope our kickoff and punt return guys start hitting people in the mouth and opening some big holes for this guy.

I agree, although I think a lot of times we would have guys dancing east and west on the return, where if they just went north south they would pick up a larger chunk of yards.

We ought to hire Kelly Rhino to coach kick returns.

We haven't had a homerun threat at punt return since Charlie Rogers. Woud love to see Tarrant energize the fanbase like Charlie did.

Charlie was THE most clutch role player I can remember in my 20 years of watching GT football. You needed a first down when the game was on the line, throw it to Charlie. You needed a punt return to put us in field goal range, leave it to Charlie. Guy was ****ing money.

At this point, I don't really care how fast or shifty the punt returner is, I just want them to have good hand-eye coordination and so that they can field punts without muffing them. I don't want to have to hold my breath for every punt returns. I would consider every other improvement a bonus.

Concur.

I'd rather take a zero yard return each game than for our PR/KR to give the other team the ball inside our 30.

There are HS coaches who don't field punt returners b/c they don't want to risk the turnover.

I was almost at that point last season!

I recall Chan going to that strategy vs #3 Miami because we muffed so many in a row.

I recall far too many times watching the other team punt the ball into the air, and I unconsciously began to speak aloud...
"just catch it first :ugh:...
just catch it first :ugh:...
JUST CATCH IT FIRST ...
S!#$ F#$% G$# D@#$^&!!!!
Ugh... :drinking:"

Welcome to the field JT... now take us to the house!

Ditto on all you just said, LMAO. If can catch the ball everytime, I'll be a happy man.

Never saw this mentioned but at the Wes lunch bunch he said Dwyer was telling anyone who would listen that Tarrant is the next Devin Hester.
