"The medical people came up, and . . . said he was ready to go," coach Chan Gailey said. "He didn't talk his way [back] into the game. After a quarter it was clear he wasn't the same though"

The one who sucks around here is you. Plenty of people are unhappy with things the way they are with the program, but there's no reason to turn on players who may not perform the way you want but who are giving Tech everything they have.

Quoted for truth.

taylor bennett is terrible, 9-27 with a pic, thats not good. he cant hit anybody, he hits people in the feet most of the time..hopefully the new coach will bench his ass and bring in someone who can play

You're an asshole too then.

Who might that be? What I saw of our other QBs lead me to believe that Taylor, even hurt, was our best option at QB at this point.

If Taylor is the best option next year then he will play again. Hopefully he will get better development.

calvin booker looked really good on his few plays, no worse than bennett and he throws a better ball

I was looking for a thread about Booker. Why did he not play more? He threw a strike across the middleof the field for a first down. I think it was 3rd and 11 or something. He makes 2 great passes and then gets pulled for Nesbitt to throw an interception.
I have said it ever since the Gator bowl, Taylor is not good. If he was good, they would have benched Reggie. Reggie started for a reason, nobody was better than him. I think Gailey was so worried about keeping his job and he knew if he started Taylor he could be mediocre and win enough games to get to a bowl game. If we would have had a coach that was secure with his job, he would have realized Taylor is never going to take GT football to a higher level and started Nesbitt or Booker. Just look at how many passes Taylor underthrew in the Gator Bowl.
Listen to the announcers during the game, all they talk about is how inconsistent his throws are. He underthrows waaaay too many balls.

I was wondering about Booker as well. Was stuck listening to the game on the radio. Did he get hurt or something? From the sounds of it, he was holding his own in there for like 3 plays, gave our offense a little spark and rode the pine the rest of the way.

Whatever I guess. I'm tired of trying to figure this out.

Thanks for putting Taylor's position and number in there for those of us who don't know who he is...

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Tater has been missing in action for most of the year. It's easy to forget who he is.

As much as I like Nesbitt I am not sure a position change would not be the best thing for him. Booker made a few nice throws but it is hard to pass judgment on how good he is based on the two or three plays he was in there.

Wow. I guess the reason he's had so many dropped passes was because they hit the receivers in the feet.

I'm not sure why this seems to be an either or debate. The fact of the matter is there are two problems here:

1. TB can't hit the broadside of a Mangino.
2. On the occasion he gets the ball to the WR they can't catch it.

I believe that knoxjacket summed it up about as well as it could be done. That's simply how it is.

Nesbitt is a truly fine athlete and runner. But, the decision to go with Booker when Taylor was hurt is a clear message that there is no confidence in Nesbitt throwing the football. If that is the case, I would consider moving him to RB - Dwyer, Jones, Nesbitt, and Evans are not too many TB's.

I would let Booker have a real shot at competing with Bennett next year. Let's redshirt Renfree and hope he is the answer for '09 and the next four years to follow.

And, let's recruit several QB's who can play. UGA doesn't mind having a QB of Cox's caliber on the bench. You have to be strong at that position.

Taylor isnt HORRIBLE, hes just bad. If 5 big drops dont happen, he hovers around 50%.

Anyone know if he can catch? Seriously though, Booker was 3/4....why has he not taken more snaps?

Say what you want to about the coaches, AD, president, media, officials, etc. Do not, I repeat do not trash the players!
