I wonder why the line on our game is moving? Most places had it open at Tech +1.5 or Tech +2. It is now a PK or a Tech -1 at those same places.

This is the site I have been checking:

http://www.vegasinsider.com/college-football/odds/las-vegas/

I find this unbelievable. FSU covered last week and we missed the mark by upwards of 18 points! A lot of movement already; it's just Monday....

Is there some news behind all this?????

the line is probably moving because all the early money is going on the Criminals...

or maybe there was an injury or something--not sure, didn't care to do the research..

best bet--dont bet on teams you support..nobody needs two heart breaks in one day...
unless you bet against them--then you're guaranteed something positive to happen

you're right...sorry...

the early money should be on the jackets...

No prob. I'm just baffled by it. Unless there is some news (injury, suspension etc) behind this, I would expect the line to move back toward PK. But a 2 or 2.5 swing which changes who is favored to win is pretty dramatic for a Monday. I have checked everywhere I can think of for news or any explanation and I can't find it. I can't believe that a huge majority would decide without good reason that Florida St. -2 was too much, especially after last weekend.

(And just to be clear, I'm just trying to sniff out the news. I'm under no delusion that these lines predict outcomes.)

As for me, hell yes, I think we can knock Chief Cashola on his arse and beat their stupid horse!

:dead_horse:

Of course, we can also fumble the game away.:ugh:

Crap, this is a gambling thread.

From the thread title I thought maybe our actual line was showing some life.

It might have something to do with their running back being questionable

From the article:

He also aggravated an injury to his ribs that he suffered in FSU’s victory against Colorado on Sept. 29.

He has been playing while wearing a protective vest since the Colorado game, and he said the rib injury is something that could nag him for a while.

“I don’t mind taking no shot,” he said. “As long as I get out there and make my money – that’s what it’s all about. That’s all I’m about right now, this is my senior year, I don’t got no other go arounds …”

I don't know what I find more disturbing about that quote, the fact that he speaks English at about the level of a 5 year old or the fact that he can't form spoken thoughts in such a way as to convey what he means. Of course, maybe he really is getting paid by FSU and just doesn't mind being honest about it. It is his senior year, after all, it's not like he'd have no other go arounds anyways.

Are these the same oddsmakers that gave UVa 11 points last week?

Come on, give the guy a break, he don’t got no other go arounds.

Let's make that an open invitation for somebody to make a LOLcats out of him with that direct quote...

Thanks BME for that info. Gotta respect Smith's honesty about what really drives him to perform, but how is he going to make any money at the next level? Is he an NFL prospect? He's like 5'8, 190 lbs, right? Arena ball? Or are they paying him per game already?

Here's to hoping that sore ribs and a banged up elbow cause a needed fumble or two.

Line continues moving. Some oddsmakers have already moved it from Tech +1.5 to Tech -2.5. This is a big move and it's only Tuesday! What is going on???

GT is 5-1 ATS (Against the Spread) this season.

That's a trend, my friend.

If my life depended on it, I'd take the Jackets all the way.

i went to college in Valdosta--which has Tally local news..

i remember one year they had a weekly segment that was sort of like cribs where the players would show you their car and where they live..

i really don't think i ever saw one with anyone who seemed to have any educational background

well we would have lost the spread against GW...but lucky for us a line wasn't offered....

WOW, I guess that means we are magically improving as a team. WHOO HOOOO!!!

Well, Friday morning has come and most places are Tech -2.5, and some are even at Tech -3. I think we can win and all but I still don't understand the line.

Dammit I hate slogging through Friday, wishing it was over with, knowing that I have to somehow fall asleep tonight before the games start. The suspense has been a lot worse this season than ever before.
