This is my one GT rant for the season. Why,oh why can't Tech get average TV/Radio/News Print coverage. 680, WSB, AJC only give lip service to Tech , if any, while uga has sponsors lined up to give money for commercials. I know! uga wins, but little or no publicity is the norm for Tech. Hell! 680 preempts Tech games for all Braves action and moves the game to a station that can't be picked up! outside the the perimeter. Years ago Tech sold their radio station WGST which is now 680, just think how much that station would help Tech now. Rant over!

In Augusta, and I believe in Savannah too, we get ZERO coverage in the local paper. In fact, no other area school gets any coverage at all. But we get as many as 6 different articles about the mutts 3 or 4 days a week. Hell, they don't even post Tech scores (in ANY sport) in the list of college scores.

That's unbelievable.

Local news channel mentioned the weekend line up for games, they listed Troys game and not Tech's. Have to be relevant to be relevant and we haven't been in several years.

I don't see any Tech coverage in Savannah's paper (which is really just circling the drain), but Athens-Augusta-Savannah are all part of the same chain, and with Athens covering Georgia, they share that with their sibling papers. It's cheap content.
What's worse is soon, some papers are going to have give up AP coverage to cut costs, so some other outposts outside of Atlanta that sometimes would have Tech coverage may not have any in the future.

Local news channel's don't want to cover Tech, then stop watching them. There's plenty of great options for GT fans now online. The Crowded Booth with Bryce Coon and Wreck Talk with... Wreck Talk. Those are hands down some of the best pod cast-style channels that cover GT, Wreck Talk is required weekly listening for me. I'll also plug Basketball Conference, the ACC Football Conference podcast, one of the guys on the channel is a GT guy and the general conference talk is also excellent.

On that topic, for those who didn't watch it this summer, Wreck Talk's review on the hiring of Brent Key were must watch videos for GT fans.

680: Official Station of UGA
680: Flagship Station of GT

As far as I'm concerned we've been on the Ship of Fools as far as I can remember. I remember arguing with Steak Shapiro and Matt Chernoff about this years go on air. They told me, if more GT fans would call in then they would talk about GT stuff, implying that the interest wasn't there for GT locally. I do recall though when Hewitt was winning a ton and we went to the Championship game, they had him on quite a bit. There's just been nothing worth writing home about in the last few years outside of maybe Golf or Volleyball.

Selling WGST was a stupid decision!

Local radio sports talk regardless of where you live is geared towards a small niche audience. Personally, I haven’t listened to any Atlanta based sports talk in a decade since I last lived in Georgia, but it’s not hard to figure out who #1-3 are.

If you want to hear GT talk, XM Radio is your option. ACC Channel. Roddy, Wes do a great job.
