Tech not done recruiting WR's:

I think that our recruiting numbers at CB, WR, A-B, & B-B are fluid based on the QB targets. For example if we are recruiting a QB that would project best at WR if Qb doesn't workout then we would have less offers out to pure Wr's. I think the renewed interest in Wr's is the result of a couple of our QB targets committing to other schools, mainly Ricky Johnson committing to Arkansas.

If we are going to be taking 3 or 4 QB's every year we have to leave spots at other positions open if we need to move them.

He's actually from Miller Grove and is an outstanding athlete. He is a great sprinter and basketball player as well. One thing GT has going for us with Stephen is that he is really good friends with one of our bball commits, Mfon Udofia.

He has tons of potential, until we start throwing more though it is hard to lure these types of WR's.

I thought CPJ was done rcruiting WR's?

This kid's 6-5 from Miller Grove...(tape is from Tucker High School game.)

If falls under the category of "do not pass up a great athlete if you can get one".
Focus still on:

Izzan Cross
Jonathan Davis
Dontae Aycock
David Sims
Darren Myles
Orwin Smith
Daniel Hood
Wes Johnson

May offer Jemea Thomas...he is looking good and he would likely commit on the spot. May also get back in it with DE Andre Civil.

Not really sure where we stand with Courtney Dalcourt right now. Things do not look good with Euclid Cummings.

We throw more now than we did when Drew Hill was at GT. (...Although we did run more end around plays just to get him the ball.)

IMO a talented WR will be recognized by the NFL no matter what system is used. The run and shoot receivers with gaudy statistics don't last in the NFL if they don't have the talent to back those stats.

P.S.
If Drew were to come to GT today I wonder if he would be a WR or an A-back, hmmm.

Just looked on Stephen Hill's Rivals profile and it says he's a Central Florida commit; are the chances good he bolts for GT if we offer??

Hill would be a great addition. We need big physical receivers in this offense; case in point: Demaryius Thomas.

None of those guys are DTs. We've recruited 4 of them the past 3 years --Walls, Barnes, JC Lanier, and Jay Finch. Do we plan on recruiting any more some time in the near future or what?

Jay Finch is not a DT...he is an OL...so 3 DT's in 3 years....assuming we sign Lanier on signing day...which all indications are he is solid.
Last year we had Brandon Thompson as a silent commit until the coaching situation took place and he decided to go to Clemson.

It s not like the coaches do not know we only have 4 DT's next year...hence taking the commits early from Lanier and Drew....then Drerw backed off.

The problem is this right now (but there are still FIVE MONTHS LEFT).

Either:
1) We think the kid could not compete
2) They do not have the grades (this is the case with many in Georgia this year).
3) We like them but either the recruit or his coach tell us they have no interest in GT.

We just have to hope someone pops on the radar.

Either way...next year will be tough as you cannot count on true freshman, no matter how highly ranked, to be anywhere near the level of Richard, Walker, and Anyaibe.

We have to hope that Walls recovers big over the next 11 months from his broken leg....Anderson steps up another notch....Barnes can get in shape to play 20-25 snaps and hopefully be able to play on passing downs some...and Lanier can be a miracle contributor as a true freshman.

We will likely see some different combo's on passing downs next year that include Morgan, Hall, and Peters being on the DL.
