This was the famous "Seat Cushion" night at BDS in 1995. We whipped a much hyped Maryland team from start to finish.

Georgia Tech made a strong case for the defense Thurs night as the Yellow Jackets upset #17 Maryland 31-3 and won their first game against a I-A opponent in almost 2 years.
Maryland came into the game with a 4-0 mark, having beaten Tulane, UNC, W. Virginia and Duke by an avg of more than 2 td's, but Tech's defense allowed the Terps to go nowhere on the ground and kept pressure on Terp qb Scott Milanovich all evening.
Meanwhile, Tech's offense, led by qb Donnie Davis and tailback CJ Williams, who gained more than 100 yds for the third time in four games, kept the Terps on their heels.
Tech's defense set the tone by holding Maryland to -3 yards rusing in the first quarter. The Jackets held the ball for 9:15 of the period and dominated play, but came out of the first quarter with only a 3-0 lead on Dave Frankes' 37 yd fg with 8:52 elapsed.
The 2nd quarter opended with Tech finishing a 91 yd drive that consumed 4:20 as Williams took a handoff at his 37, cut left, then outran the Maryland secondary for the Jackets' 1st td and a 10-0 lead on Brad Chambers extra point."
