Thought this was an interesting quote from the article (emphasis added):
Against Boston College, Tenuta sent plenty of blitzes, as usual. B.C. kept extra blockers in and did a good job in blitz pick-up. When Gailey was asked if he considered suggesting to Tenuta that the Jackets blitz less and cover more, the head coach said he doesn't meddle with his defensive coordinator.
What are the reasons that he does not meddle with Tenuta, but does with Bond? There have been many threads on here and the other boards about the responsibilities of a HC and whether or not he should be able to interfere with the coordinators. Seems that Gailey gives free reign to Tenuta, but not to Bond. Does he just trust Tenuta more? Does he think Tenuta will eat his children if he criticizes him? Does he just not know enough about defense? Would love to hear an insider's perspective if there is some deal in place where he can "advise" Bond on what to do and not Tenuta...

I think he just has more interest in the offense. He lets Tenuta do his thing, because he doesn't care much for that. Offense is his passion though so he'll always interfere with it as long as he is here. Just the way it is.

Have you ever met Tenuta in person? Who would want to meddle with that dude?

Because if he doesn't control the offense then part of his manhood is being taken away from him. It's like admitting Bond knows more than him.
