Will CGC become another one of Tech's Voldemorts? A name that cannot be uttered along with B** L****? Better still, with so many good and great coaches in our history, why do we hire these types? One was too many.

Bill Lewis is still the only GT coach I know where the players quit on him. This is not an observation but from directly chatting with players that lived in the same dorm as I did back then. They hated him and felt he was completely out of touch with how an athlete's body performs.
That was certainly true, but it sure looks like the players have quit on the current coach.

I wouldn't be surprised to hear the same type of reports from our players in a few years.

I don’t think they have quit. They are just frustrated that they are unprepared. GC blaming mistakes on players will lead them to quitting on him though.

That wasn't the case the first time around in 1970 & 1971..... Bill, along with Billy Williamson, was the Defense's counter-balance to Lamar Leachman & Jerry Glanville, even liked by the O, special & scout team folks such as yours truly.

The whole mishandling of the Donnie Davis-Al & Tommy Luginbill situation blew up the Locker Room & led to his undoing.

And no, that wasn't the first time a GT HFC has lost the Locker Room.

Bud the Dud??

How could he not be? Allowing two of his initials to be uttered like B*** L**** is far too egregious.

He has the worst winning percentage of any Tech coach since 1902. By far. There is a reason I will never forget the following numbers: 73-7, 52-7, 45-0, 24-2, 100-0, and 42-0. Burned into my consciousness.

Bill Lewis was before my time. Two 5 win seasons. In season 3, he had a close game against a top 10 team, beat Western Carolina, then lost all the rest.

kinda feels like this could be worse since it started out with three 3 win seasons. Also, Lewis didn’t lose any games by 42 that season.

I don't think we'll hear reports that the players hate Geoff, they probably like him on a personal level.

If look up the user Too Tall's post on TOS, it may already be happening.
To sum up, he has seats near a player's mom. The mom said her son said practices are a joke and they have tuned out Collins.

He talks big accountability. But they also know what's going on. They may know he bailed on a live radio show and did a taped one to avoid the fans.
They're not dumb. They may be seeing through Clown.

If you ever read Jack Wilkinson's book on the 1990 national championship team, Ross came close to losing the locker room - that year.

Boss Ross' 1st team (1987 or 1988?), full of holdovers from Curry, shut it down in the 2nd half vs UNC at Grant Field. Not pretty & very obvious, turning a big lead into a L.
