That's the way to defense Wake Forest. Very imaginative blitzing. Briliant call by the defense on the 4th and 1.

Right you are.
i must have been thinking about the officiating in the NCState game.

overall, i seem to be pretty badly dissappointed in the quality level of officials in the ACC, is it just me?

Actually, that was an ACC crew. Last year Purdue used a Big-10 crew at Purdue and this year it was an ACC crew at Wake. Very odd.

I don't believe thats correct. The announcers clearly mentioned this was a Big 10 crew. The rule is to use the visiting teams conference officials. That rule sucks pretty bad. Would be better to get neutral conference refs for non-conf games, but that creates scheduling problems.

On the other hand, the ACC crew in Columbus clearly screwed NCState on the interception call.

Announcers said it was ACC refs.
Purdue was not clearly offside on the play, so it could have gone either way. A few plays earlier Wake clearly bounced a pass to a receiver that the refs called complete, so things even out anyway.
