just seemed he was not into it and this gels w/ early practice reports that were negative.

I can understand pathetic O but not pathetic D. Fresno State was a bad team this year and we made them look like a BCS team.

I have to wonder if Tenuta was committed to this interim coaching position. I hope he already has the deal locked up b/c this game did not help his resume. IMO

Thats what I said Lawbee but I am getting hammered for it. Good luck.

No that's not what you said. What lawbee said was tasteful and on the mark, what you said was ****ing stupid. You blamed our incoming coach for not stepping in. You're an imbecile or your too drunk to think straight. Either way, you need to keep your mouth shut. Tenuta failed miserably today. It happened. We have a new coach coming in. I'm betting we'll be a much much better team.

The BORe is back, F you BORe. Villify me if you will (look it up) but I have to leave and party for the NY. You are the cretin who resorted to name calling.

Go to your party yankee. And next time don't be so stupid to blame an incoming coach 3 weeks hired on a game he had nothing to do with. I feel secure in calling out your idiocy. Its not name calling if its true.

Could this have been an intentional mess set up by Tenuta as a way of thumbing his nose at GT as he went out the door? I would have a hard time believing such a thing could happen, and I generally don't subscribe to conspiracy theories (except the true one about the rigged 16-0 Patriots' season), but you could almost argue for this one having some grain of truth to it....

Anything is possible assuming he has his next job secured; but it would be dumb of him to purposely put this on his resume if his ultimate goal is to be a head coach.

Another dumbass statement.

BOR, you want more?

ok, ok, I give. There is more than one. But Ramblinwise still takes the prize for dumbest thing I have ever read on a message board.

Seems more like the entire D phoned it in, maybe showing their collective displeasure that their man didn't get the HC job. The offense; however, for once showed some fight when behind big, something that would have never happened with Gailey still holding the reigns. Hang this loss on our D. Although it took a while for the O to get rolling, they didnt give up.

No question that the defense played very poorly. A lot had to do with Fresno State's game plan and execution. They attacked a blitz defense well. Runs were quick hitters right at us except for some third down draws. Picked up blitzes well and threw quickly. Mixed up their formations very well. With Tenuta on the field it seemed we had no one in the press box recognizing what was going on and making changes. It's nice to see a multi dimensional offense that can run and pass, using all the backs and receivers well. We covered the tight end poorly. I kept thinking they had to be holding, but on most replays they just blocked us.

The ACC has some pretty poor offenses. The best offenses we faced this year were BC, UGA, Fresno, then Va Tech. The results weren't too pretty in those games. I think our high national ranking on defense was really aided by playing Miami, Duke, Clemson, Army, Samford, ND, UNC, and even Md and UVA. I think this year's defense was in reality well below the standards of the previous two years. Our blitzes just did not get to the QB quick enough - we really missed Hall and Scott.

what we saw is what happens when you DC tries to be HC and DC while keeping his ears open for a new job.

There is a very very good reason why interim coaches very very rarely win.

It was very clear that the defense didn't give a f today. Make me sick to my stomach. We make Fresno look like New England. I'm tired of seeing flat performances like this where they guy look like they don't care.

I fully expect CPJ to chew a bunch of guys out this offseason and up coming season. I wouldn't be surprised if we have a player or two quit(transfer) , because honestly I think our guys are soft right now.

odw, it will likely bee more than a few, ala Bobby Ross. There will bee great knashing of teeth when it happens but we WILL bee better off in 2009/10. There are quitters on this team.

Blaming CJT for today's defensive atrocity is foolish. And its beyond obvious why.

Whatever happened to GaTech PRIDE???
The D collectively showed no spark, no emotion, no
will to win.
This lay down crap never happened during the Bobby Dodd and Bobby Ross eras.
What the heck is up with the current generation of
athletes?

And why is that? I don't think he phoned it in, but, like his players, it does seem like he didn't have the same focus he usually does. He might have done better if it was like 2001 and he was still a serious candidate for the HC job.

Calm down, dude.

Maybe you should name names instead of this generic 'the defense'. I didn't see kids not trying. I saw a game plan beat the hell out of them. Our D-line got neutralized. But Burnett didn't quit. Did Avery Roberson quit? He stuck his head in their so hard, he probably still doesn't know where he lives. Wheeler had 11 tackles. Guyton had 10. Jamal Lewis 8. Richard recovered a fumble ON THE 1(!!!) to save a TD.
