Since Texas Tech did beat them head to head it only seems right that Texas should decline the invite to allow the Red Raiders to go. :D

The real reason for this post though is that seeing the first computer ranking, there may be a chance that we see an OU-UT BCSCG. Sagarin has the Gators at #4, He had them at 6 last week and 6 was their computer avg, so i think there is a real chance that UF may have a #4 computer average.

My guess is that the voting in the Coaches poll will be tight between OU,UF, and UT probly each getting roughly .94, and Ill bet UF is #1 in the Harris but it wont we as dominant as the .99 alabama had more like .98 due to OU's performance

a .98 + .94 + .87 (for 4th place in computers) gives UF a .93 avg. not enough to beat out Texas (assuming texas moves up to around .94 which I think is a safe assumption with UA losing, they should be atleast .935) UF would need a .98 in both human polls with a 4th in the computers and I just dont see that happening

Im calling it here first Florida isn't going to the BCSCG

Further analysis, because I have nothing better to do at 5 in the morning, I think a good (max) estimate for UF's Harris and Coaches poll rating would be to split the 1st place votes between OU/UF and place UF second on all the ballots they are not first. This would give them a Harris and CP of .98 and the spot in the title game. This would take a big effort from pollsters especially in the CP where UF is currently ranked 4th, but my initial thought that Texas would move up was premature, depending on what pollsters do it is entirely possible that their rating will remain unchanged. However I still think some voters will be thinking that Texas got screwed and will rank UT ahead of OU and possibly even at #1. I stick by my prediction but I think it is going to be very close

Im at work, and there isnt crap to do at a data center at 5 am on Sunday.

If Florida gets jobbed out of the BCS title game, then the anarchy and chaos will reign supreme. Those poll voters may be stupid, but they know the drill. Florida will play OU.

I posted about this on another thread. Here is an article I found on it:
http://bcsguru.blogspot.com/2008/12/split-title-for-florida-ap-style.html

Apparently the Cincinnati vs. Hawaii game makes a big difference in the computer rankings because Cincinnati lost to OU earlier in the year, so if Cinci won (which they did), it doesn't bode well for Florida. If Cinci lost last night, we wouldn't even be having this conversation. Apparently the voters know about this, so they are going to put Florida as #1 just so they can see Florida vs. OU in the National Championship. The guys on 790 the zone were talking about this yesterday and saying that they think it is unethical to change your true vote (OU #1 UF #2 to UF #1 OU #2) just so that you can overcome computers.

I can't sleep either.

Try being over in Shanghai, 13 hours ahead of ATL. Stingtalk isnt exactly bustling with activity while I am awake here...

So as to not completely derail the thread, I would be very unhappy with a Texas - Oklahoma BCSNC. Although, if that's what it takes to move closer to a playoff, I am all for it...I just wont exactly be eager to watch the game...

read elo_chess ranking, not the first one. A poster said BCS uses the elo_chess one.

That is correct. And ELO_CHESS has Florida fourth and OU first, while the Predictor has OU third and Florida first.

I'd love a UT/OU champ game. The SEC would be bitching so much... Got to pull for chaos in such a crappy system.

zero percent chance it's not UF and OU. UF will have #1 votes in all the human polls, and Texas will be 4th, which will make that lead insurmountable.

That would be great if Florida gets left out. The SEC would go insane.

From the BCS Guru site:

4. Florida and Oklahoma win: Mathematically the most likely scenario and also the most uncertain. This is where the Cincinnati-Hawaii game comes in. If Hawaii wins, it's 95% Florida-Oklahoma, 5% Texas-Oklahoma. If Cincinnati wins, it's 60% Florida-Oklahoma, 40% Texas-Oklahoma.

40% chance of Florida being left out of the CG.

I would loooooooooooooooooooove for Florida to get left out. The mighty SEC doesn't even get to play for the MNC and chaos ensues.

"Oh, the SEC's so great? Well why didn't your two best teams even get into the MNC game?"

BCS CHAOS!!! :D

Two teams from the same conference in the MNC = tragedy!

I don't care who they are.
