The AJC reports that Tech ranks last in the ACC in football athlete graduation rates, but still ahead of UGA which ranks last in the SEC.
Details: Percentage of athletes who originally enrolled in 1997-2000 (recruited by GOL) who earned a degree within 6 years of enrollment.
UGA 41%
LSU 51%
GA Tech 51%
Tennessee 52%
Arkansas 53%
FSU 58%
Wake Forest 90%
Vanderbilt 91%
BC 93%
Duke 93%
The NCAA reports the numbers for 4 recruiting classes at a time, so the next group will be 2001 - 2004. When they look at the graduation results for the four recruiting classes beginning with 2005, I believe we will see a much improved picture for Tech.
