Thanks for messing up Josh Nesbitt freshman year. He should be a redshirt freshman right now

Thanks too for recruiting that unanimous All-ACC guy and likely player of the year in his first season as a starter.

TANKS FOR NUTTIN!

stupid post of the week!

+2....I thought a 9-3 first year with CPJ would make people forget about Chan. Guess not?

Chan still haunts my dreams.

Only 10 in a row vs the Mutts or a NC will bring me peace.

I talked to many of the GT staff, coaches, and players Saturday night that were thankful for Chan building team unity amongst the players (they are very tight..probably because it is a high character group) and bringing in great athletes.

Paul Johnson is taking it to the next level.

There is simply no reason to trash Chan.

We are fortunate to have Ross, O'Leary, Gailey, and now Johnson to make sure GT has a winning program year in and year out.

Now...who was that guy in the mid-90's that tried to tear it down? :fingersx:

Where CPJ had to start was miles ahead of where GOL had to start after the coach which shall not be named.

Chan gave CPJ a talented, if young, cupboard. Nesbitt is better this year for not redshirting, although Chan should have used him more, and passed with him more, in retrospect.

Gailey kept us up enough through the troubles to give Johnson the chance to take them to the next level.

he got Nesbitt here. Take your critical posts and shove them up your A$$!

you have something to be happy about, why spoil it with venom towards the past?

Chan Gailey didn't run the program into the ground. In fact, I honestly believe that we would have always been a bowl team under Gailey. The problem is, we would never be much more than that and would always be considered an afterthought on the national stage.

Gailey would be a good hire for a program in turmoil just hoping for someone to keep them above water for 3 or 4 years.

Precisely. For contrast, go look at Rich Rodriguez and Michigan. They had the 3-9 season that a lot of people thought we would have.

i agree, he can keep a ship from sinking and he can get it back in shape to compete. after that, he is perhaps not the guy to take it too full speed ahead, but give the man his props!

he would be the perfect coach for Notre Dame right now!

Agreed. CPJ has had a transition job to do, not strictly a rebuilding job. Except to the extent that schollies were limited, and I don't blame Chan for that. All this vitriol directed at Chan is just unhealthy. He had his shortcomings. But I wish his critics were as classy as he is...

Gailey ran the program to a comfortable plateau, which a better coach could use as a platform to jump to the next level.

Really, for all he's worth, Gailey set us up fairly well for the seasons to come.

He did burn Nesbitt's redshirt for no good reason, though. Grr. That's okay, we've got some serious studs who can replace him in 2011.

I think had a reason...he was searching for a QB who could play in the ACC.

As a former FOC'er, in the midst of all our revelry it would only be respectful to remember Mr. Gailey with kindness. He did keep the program respectable against some tough odds and there were some fun moments to go with the bad.

We need to be grateful and thankful at this point. Both that Chan brought his A-game to TECH and tried to help us for awhile and that after his influence we now appear headed to that next level that we've aspired to for so long.

Hats off to Chan. I'm sure he would be happy for our success. He's welcome back anytime AFAIC.

Thank you, Chan.
