Great job ignoring the PJ press conference in order to bring us a riveting interview with a couple of boxing losers...

The problem I have is that they lied. They have been saying all day that they're going to carry the whole conference...

If it was a mid-day conference they would have.
 
This station is a disgrace to us! I was listening a few days ago and they had an announcer on who admitted he was a dawg fan and talking how great the leg humpers are!
 
Someone must have screwed up internally. I know they intended to cut away for it locally - they'd been advertising it all day.

The Stews are national on XM, they weren't going to stop their show for it, but the local feed should have cut away. I'd bet someone screwed up majorly at 790.

give me a break... with the UFC who really gives a rats ass what 2 sweaty idiots are going to be hugging each other for 15 rounds.. I laugh at dip****s who still watch boxing pay-per-views... boxing is as relevant as disco..
 
Meh. They were in Vegas for the fight, so they have to cover the fight. They get to go to Vegas, the fight gets promoted, 790 probably gets some cash, everybody wins.

Except for us.

The hiring of a football coach for the school they ostensibly cover should be worthy of preempting an inconsequential fight.

When I first connected, they were talking with Angelo Dundee about a book he co-authored. It's not as if they were in the middle of calling a fight.

While I agree, it isn't really an "inconsequential fight". It is a pretty big fight, one that only comes around about once or twice a year.
 
Since I live more than 10 miles from the station, the signal faded and I didn't know that hadn't broadcast the whole news conference. When are we going to get a radio network that will actually allow the whole state to hear the games? I live half way between Atlanta and Athens, and at night can pick up 4 stations that broadcast ugag games, but none that carry GA Tech.
 
When we start winning consistently over a period of 5-10 years.
 
I have hated their use of "flagship" ever since they started doing it. The only hours the station doesn't suck is non drive time.
The morning drive tries to be The View of "sports talk", and Doug Stewart in the afternoon is unbearable. He has no knowledge of sport.

I did hear that Dan is doing his best to improve our radio situation.
I am pulling for a powerful revival of W-GST.

I happened to get in my truck at about 5:35 today and heard Coach Johnson's press conference. I was only in my truck for about 15 mins with three 14 year old girls so I couldn't hear much.
 
680 'tried' to air it...only they 'lost' their signal at about the exact same moment DRad finished his introduction. I couldn't get 790 after I got past West Paces Ferry anyway, even if I wanted to listen to them.

And I don't much care who the hell broadcasts the game, but please get 'Home Team' (pregnant pause) Brandon Leak the hell out of our stadium. And tell those two jackasses that broadcast the pregame show that it's Tyler Evans returning punts, not Jamal Evans.
