GT wins out (including a 12th game)

Miami loses to Clemson in a close one

Oklahoma loses the Big 12 championship

NC State and VPISU each drop one more

CFP rankings:

1. Bama
2. Clemson
3. Wisconsin
4. Miami

Orange bowl takes GT as highest rated ACC team

mind almost rite but you forgot georgie losing out, Bama losing to Auburn, Auburn putting up 50 points on georgia in the SECCG, and then georgia losing to some crappy school in the outback bowl yet again.

...and our opponent in the Orange is overrated ND who we proceed to run off the field!

After we beat UGA, VippySue and NCST winning out doesn't matter. We'll get bumped over them

Is that still a rule? That the OB has to take the highest ranked ACC team?

I think they have a choice once rankings come out if there are ACC teams in the playoffs. They are allowed to skip ACC teams to get higher ranked teams. The Orange Bowl isn't going to have a team ranked lower than 15 stinking up their field.

Here are the criteria:

Atlantic Coast Conference[edit]
2017: [4]

NOTE:

  • #1 College Football Playoff. ACC Champion (or best available team if champ in College Football Playoff) goes to Capital One Orange Bowl. The ACC plays the highest ranked non-champion team among the Big Ten (at least three years), SEC (at least three years), and Notre Dame (no more than twice). If it is the Big Ten, the ACC will take Big Ten's spot in the Citrus Bowl.
  • #2 The Citrus Bowl only if Big Ten is selected for the Orange Bowl
  • #3 The Camping World Bowl versus Big 12
Tier #1 (selections made with schools, bowls, and conference office)

Tier #2 (selections still shared, order in place in case of insufficient number of bowl-eligible teams)

Conditional Secondary-Agreements

  • The Gasparilla Bowl if either the American or C-USA cannot fill their slots
  • The Birmingham Bowl if either the American or SEC cannot fill their slots.

1) It looks like the Orange Bowl still has to take an ACC team this year.
2) WTF is the Gasparilla Bowl?

Someone posted elsewhere claiming there was some actual behind the scenes conversations going on still with GSU to play in December. Any truth?
Beating them 100-0 is a pretty season ender.

I believe GSU already has a scheduled game that day since they have no conference championship.

We should ask Florida

This person said the week after. The week of Army/Navy. Probably all bullshit, but just a fun thought.

We should schedule The Gator just so we can rub it in UCF's face that UF doesn't duck us like UCF did. Of course, with a coaching vacancy, that won't happen. Go Gator! Go Gator! Go Gator!

.....
2) WTF is the Gasparilla Bowl?

The Bad Boy Mowers Gasparilla Bowl is an NCAA-sanctioned post-season college football bowl game that has been played annually at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida, since 2008

It has also been called: magicJack St. Petersburg Bowl, St. Petersburg Bowl Presented by Beef 'O' Brady's, Beef 'O' Brady's Bowl, and Bitcoin St. Petersburg Bowl. "Bad Boy Mowers Bowl" sounds a lot better than "Gasparilla Bowl". 'Gasparilla' sounds like the flatulence from eating too many bean a cheese burritos from Taco Bell.
