It's called "Turner Field" or "The Ted". Any other name is, to be blunt, bull öööö.

And why is the Georgia State stadium a better choice then Bobby Dodd?

maybe artificial vs real grass. GT would require field to be replaced?

I’m not up on my metro Atlanta soccer facility rankings, but I’d be surprised if our stadium couldn’t command a premium price, considering what I read about when the United played there. If nothing else, we have rail service & Ga State doesn’t.

There are quite a few GT players on the roster for Atlanta. I’m interested. Especially in how often teams go for the “onside kick” which is basically a 4th and 10 from your own 35.

I'm curious as to how this rule is written. I assume the clock will start on the snap just like a regular play, as opposed to not starting unless the kickoff is fielded. This could be an advantage to teams that score late to take a small lead with only a few seconds left on the clock. Instead of kickoff and risking any type of return, you could go for the "onsides." If the defense comes all out to get to the QB, it's likely an easy completion somewhere for the 1st down. If they sit back in coverage, QB can scramble for a few seconds, then heave one up high and OOB where the clock will run out with the other team never even getting a chance to touch the ball again.

I just assumed it would be untimed. To avoid a scenario such as yours.

If it's untimed, while highly unlikely that it could be pulled off, then theoretically a team could score TD's and then go for as many "onsides kicks" as they want throwing hail marys or trick plays to score and win.

It would, I just don't see how it would be an untimed down, as kickoffs aren't untimed (if there is live ball play).

Well, kickoffs also aren't 4th and 10s from the 35.

If you are tweaking the rules, tweak them. The idea that the 4th and 10 onside kick is untimed becomes excellent in practice.

I think they would just blow the play dead after they gained the required yards. But I don’t know.
