...and as a fan sitting in the stands a feeling of hopelessness overcomes you.
During the first five minutes of the game I witnessed a dropped pass for a certain 7-0 lead --an opportunity to cover a muffed kick for a TD (or at the very least a safety) wasted --an opportunity to intercept a pass deep in UGA territory dropped.
But GT could not capitalize on any opportunities put before them. A while later UGA is the beneficiary of a terrible pass interference call to put them ahead --turns out for good. Prior to the half TBennett is sacked and TBell barely misses a 60+ FG that would have given GT the lead going into the locker room.
Second half --more of the same. GT intercepts a pass but fumbles it near UGA's end zone. KMoreno is stiffled all day long --but UGA's second-string running back, TBrown, runs all over over GT in the second half and that pretty much winds up being the difference in the game --that and the fact that TBennett is just not a major college QB. The kid gives it what he can --but he's just not talented enough to play at this level.
And to top it all off --I'm outnumbered by UGA fans in my section of BDS. I'm not even that mad now --just frustrated. The UGA game has been there for the taking for the last four seasons --and GT has come up short in each and every one of them.
