Thinking back on one of the most frequent complaints I've seen about BDS over the years, the noonthirty early September bake-offs, I've had another moonshot idea to improve attendance. Why don't we put these in some parts of the stadium:

Except section-sized.

221-229, 122-129, 213-219, 114-118, 101-111, 201-208, all very square, could totally work.

It's gotta be cheaper than a dome, it's probably cheaper than a new basketball coach, and all it needs to do is provide a little shade.

What say you, actual engineers?

Better still, what size floating Zeppelin at what altitude would cast a shadow large enough to provide shade to the entire stadium? I am merely a lowly SPSU grad and therefore not gonna do maths. Nothing feels better than when that one cloud finally floats over the stadium.

I kind of hate that because you get that sweet, sweet relief, then you look up and realize there's literally not a single other cloud in the sky and you only have about five minutes of respite.

What are Visitos?

This would be cheaper.

It's also probably illegal to do that low.

I blame government.

Well this worked in Miami...I think the answer is to give up the absolute need for tv coverage and go to night games during September. The ACC needs to understand that butts in the seats is the biggest short term priority for all sports. Whoever holds and develops new fan bases is going to succeed; the rest are going to drop out.
On this front, the Big Ten made a big mistake playing their tourney a week early and no where near their fans. Fans willing to show up is going to be a bigger and bigger issue going forward.

They sold out the Garden 4 times

Sell ads on the covers. Will pay for itself. Will make money. Will guarantee CPJ gets all noon kickoffs, which he prefers.

With how many inevitable noon games we get this would be a good idea, or just do like Hard Rock Stadium and have mister fans running. But hey we will all have our refillable bottles from our season tickets to just dump on ourselves and refill unlimited times. Hooray.

Acc gets too much tv revenue to care about how many fans make it to your stadium. Tv revenues are pooled and shared, not the ticket revenue.

The rooves (in honor of my NJ friend) over their stadium may contribute to their crummy field conditions sometimes. Too much shade prevents the field from drying out after their frequent rains
