another board, (I will not mention name for it is not worth the time to type) are saying that Coach Curry does not love GT.

What a BLAST!!!!

My two cents worth on the issue.... Coach Curry is without a doubt the right man for the job. He may not have experience as an AD, and that is ok with me. He has many attributes that would go a looong way in getting GT back where we belong.

I had an opportunity to get to know him when he was recruiting the Mover. He was always very pleasant and professional with our family and friends. Even when (GASP!!!!) JD committed to UGAy, he didn't put on a high pressure sales pitch he just kept being himself.

Bill Curry embodies what GT stands for. He will battle for all of our SA's on The Hill, but more importantly he will develop a relationship with the faculty.

I hope, if he is hired, that he will take a long look at our football situation and address the HC position ASAP.

GO TECH!!

I'm with you. If I was to choose a number 2 candidate though Todd Stansbury would be my man. Todd will end up as a gem of an AD for someone in his future whether it is for us or someone else. By the way he has demonstrated experience.

Still though, in my mind there is not much of a decision here. Bring Bill Back (BBB). He is the man for the job.

I agree. Even if he isn't the best candidate or isn't hired, anyone who thinks Curry doesn't love Tech is a complete fool (and other things I can't post). He's been talking about Tech for years on radio and TV, in fact on his regular Mike and Mike calls every week, Tech almost always comes up.

I like Bill Curry. But I can't endorse him as our next AD. I'm not resentful that he left Tech for so-called greener pastures but it does tell me that he was more interested in seeking personal success than he was making Tech successful.

And I don't mean this to slight him but his post-NFL career has been remarkably unremarkable.

Let me put it this way: would anyone endorse him if he wasn't an alum? Being an alum isn't a qualification.

Again, I'm not trying to put him down but the AD job at Tech is an exceptionally difficult one and I can't find a single thing in Curry's resume that tells me he'll be successful here.

I think that when a sports figure settles into broadcasting, that's pretty much the end of the line. He's not even that good of an announcer. I wish Bill Curry well. Just not here. There are more qualified candidates who deserve to be considered.

Moving on is moving on. Coming back is coming back. Careers are careers. If Curry did not take the opportunity in time to seize the greater prize then he would not be who he is.

You take all of that experience, knowledge, heart, attitude, calmness in the face of adversity, and personna amd put it in one individual then you apply it at this point in time. Then it begins to grow. And when it grows TECH will reap booku recruits and all kinds of benefits.

Bill Curry is the right man for the job.

I like Curry numba one for a numba of reasons.

Bonifay numba two. Same rationale.

This decision will reflect directly on Clough who has no clue and doesn't give a shit about athletics unless it makes him look progressive..

Here's hoping the most ignorant master might have sumpin to say.

Actually, it's a pretty good qualification, at least him having been the head football coach at Georgia Tech is a very good qualification, along with his stints at Alabama and Kentucky. GT is unique in all of college football and his knowledge of that along with what it's like at a football factory and then another place that difficult to win at, but with different problems than what Tech faces is experience few can bring to the table.

His broadcast experience will be invaluable in the very important PR role he will play, and as a past president of the NFLPA and COO of National Consortium for Academic and Sports indicates he DOES have administrative experience that many don't give him credit for.

I don't know that Bill is the best man for the job, but he is certainly a good candidate very worthy of consideration.

What about Jim McKay? Peter Uberoth? John Schuerholtz?

I would endorse him even if he was not an alumnus. He is smart, knows college athletics - especially, of course, football, is highly respected around the country, and has great connections in both professional and college sports circles. While being an alumnus doesn't qualify him, it certainly shouldn't knock him out of consideration, either, as some on here seem to think. Perhaps a better qualification is that he coached football here while Homer Rice was the AD, and he knows from experience what a great AD can and should do.

I agree!! There are alot of people over there who are....well, tools! Angry and bitter people and probably just not angry about their perception of our fine institution.

But to assail Bill Curry (a man who travels a good bit of the football season and when he's not traveling, is heavy into prepping for the next assignment) for his lack of visible support of GT does not show much personal class and dignity.

One of the local AJC writers mentioned that site a few months back and I thought I'd check it out. There's alot to be said for an uncensored place to express one's views, but there are certain people who turn that place into a cesspool. I just assume stay out.

Absolutely. Anyway, this is a moot point, because he is an alum of GT, and simply stated, he is the right man for the job at this particular time.

MOF2

did you get banned over there? or have you still not posted there since the bowl game?

Re: MOF2

I've heard that Tech has an executive search committee. Hell, if I were on it, I'd tell them your decision is to call Bill Curry and offer him the job. Not get all cute and find some obscure candidate and hire him. Bill will do a fine job. I hope we are in negotiations with him now.

No one I have seen touted as a candidate represents Tech as well as Bill Curry.

3rd, I was banned for an extended time period back in December. I have been told the ban has been lifted and I could come back and post, BUT I decided that it was time to post there no longer. They do not want to debate over there. IMO all they want to do is bitch. I bought into it for a while, and would up getting blasted. They were making comments towards Mover and I spoke up about it and they got pissed and banned me when I made a few remarks.

They do enjoy spinning though.

I have not posted since the bowl game and probably will not post any longer. I want to debate and not BITCH!!!

By The Way, what about the Mover ofr AD at GT?

That should get a few responses!!!!
