Wise? For a dumb@ss like you, maybe.Barrow Elementary School principal Tad MacMillan said:I think the school system is wise to factor that in when they plan the calendar.

I think a better idea would be to put the kids interests ahead of the teacher's interests and put a stop to it. But I understand its easier to just throw in the towell.Well, if they factor it in their calendar, the teachers won't get paid for it and it won't count towards the overall days of school. If they don't, everyone calls in sick, they cancel class, the teachers get paid to drive to Florida, and the kids lose one of their days of school. I'd say it's probably a good idea, if this is a recurring thing.
How many of you knuckleheads have never taken a sick day from work to do something you wanted to do? What's that ol' saying about glass houses and stones?
BTW, I'm a former teacher myself and I took PLENTY of days off to travel to GT games. Are you gonna slam me for that?
(edit: my days off were actually called personal days. We were allowed 3 days per year that could be used for personal reasons in addition to sick leave. I did use sickleave, however, at other times. We used to joke about it as "mental health days.")
