The Difference Between UGA\'s 5-0 and Tech\'s 4-2 Is...

UGA has played three games that went down to the wire and UGA made the plays in each game to come out winners. Tech has played two games that went down to the wire and did not make plays. In fact, against CLEM and WF we had the ball in great field position on our last possession and still loss. I believe Gailey will get this thing turned around and not pull a B. Lewis on us but I still wonder if McWhorter was the better choice because of the way the players responded to him. The players played their hearts out for McWhorter in the bowl game. Y'all know if Gailey does lose control of this thing we can probably still get Big Mac.

In comparison.. I think you could also say that the guys played their hearts out for Gailey against NC...and in my opinion, that win was as significant as the Seattle Bowl... (fighting against adversity... ) I didnt think Mac was the answer then... and still dont... we have to give Gailey a chance to do his job... I think the problem is that none of us EVER expected to lose to WF... I still dont like it... but, its done... time to get ready for Maryland...

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">Mac wasn't exactly a stranger. Gailey's going to be here awhile and I'm behind him 100% Even if CG just up and quit I don't believe DB would look at Mac.

I still don't see UGAg as a championship caliber team but who's going to stop them in the SEC? I'd say UT may be the best bet but they're looking shaky.

If Gailey does not work out, it would be even more foolish to hire Mac now than to have kept him on as HC. Mac "does not" have the credentials to suggest he would be a good HC.

Basing a head coaching job on one game would be the most stupid thing Tech has ever done. The reason he was not considered the first time around was his lack of credentials.

Geesh!

jacketguy, we may have played our hearts out at UNC, but we did not have to in order to win. That NC D is probably the worst we will see.

I agree that it is too late for Mac. Hiring on the excitement and momentum would have been one thing, but, if DB did not see fit then, he surely won't now.

Question: Didn't we hire Lewis based on one game, the '91 Peach Bowl?

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">Yes, and if history teaches us anything, then DB wouldn't make the same mistake the previous AD made.

This time off is actually a good thing for all involved. Glad we're not playing this Thursday night. We should EXPECT improvements at Maryland next Thursday on both sides of the ball.

Time to salvage the season.
