the fact CG stated RB will play means....

If Reggie does start and play more than a half then

1. it is unlikely Reggie's injuries will be made worse by playing

2. TB is a distant #2 to an injured RB

I will say that by coming out in the paper and stating Reggie is playing I think it is possible CG could be throwing some misdirection, so Dook does not prepare for TB.

We will see.

I have had that thought since reading the article, and perhaps there is some truth to that. I did not like CCG's comment about knowing RB is banged up, but it not affecting his play. Something is affecting his play, both from a passing and running standpoint.

The article may indeed contain some coach speak,

"We're going out to win the ball game. We're not going out to rest people"

is probably the right thing to say when you are to face a team like Duke the very next week after you have wrapped up the ACC Championship game.

I was a bit surprised by some of the comments, but like I said on another thread pertaining to this subject, I, we, are on the outside-looking-in.

I don't think that there's really much difference between preparing for a Reggie that can't run and TB. We're going to try and pound the ball, run the occasional play action and occasional quick throw and/or wide receiver screen. With CJ and TC on the field, and a wounded starting tight end, I don't think Duke would all of a sudden spend their entire week worrying about throws to George Cooper over the middle or anything.

We do what we do. There's no real film on TB anyway to tell Duke what to prepare for. Chan's just tellign the truth.

That being said, if we get up by 2 touchdowns, I'd expect to see Reggie get the hook so that the fans can give him an ovation and he can rest.

Chan wouldn't lie but bending maybe. Reggie should start early, throw a few long and then sit down.
