The Herbie Awards

Apparently Rich Rodriguez without a QB that fits his scheme is going to be instantly successful, but PJ with four QBs that all fit his system isn't. I guess that tells you how strong the Big 10 is...

No MJ? No Vance Walker? What a joke...

2. Detroit Lions -- Michael Johnson, DE, Georgia Tech

Kiper and McShay have MJ going #2 (ahead of Stafford). How does he not get mentioned ?

Makes you wonder if Herbstreit has disdain towards Tech for not giving his pal Tenuta the HC job.

I just don't think he likes the ACC. It was hardly mentioned on ANYTHING. We had one "All-uni" player.

lol, he has Miami winning the Coastal. They'll be lucky to finish .500 in conference. That program is a mess right now.

I like Herbstreit, but he's a total OSU homer and he's got a raging boner for the SEC.

"4. Ohio State -- Over the past five years, the Buckeyes' home field has proved to be one of the toughest places to play in the country. New student seating configuration with 15,000 students at each end zone will create an even more hostile environment at the Shoe."

Obviously, when you schedule schools like St. Marys home for the Blind and Deaf, you're going to do fairly well at home.

I don't understand the national boner for Stafford. His stats weren't really impressive:

2007 55.7 % CMP, 19TDS 10 INTS, 128.92 RAT

Compare that to Tebow:

2007 66.9% CMP 32 TDs 6 INTS 172.47 RAT

Or even to Sam Bradford:
2007 69.5% CMP 36 TDs 8 INTs 176.52 RAT
People are making him out to be better than or equal both of them.

as i posted the other day, his 2-year stats are about the same and not better than those that Reggie Ball had.

Honestly, I'm not all that psyched about an award called a "Herbie."
