I don't usually wait until fan day to get my Media Guide but this year I did. Then I suddenly got this notion. I love ALL our Tech players, but I decided to get my two favorites and Chan to be the only three that hot the "honor" of signing my book. Well, first there was Chan. Had a nice short convo, picture (where my belly extended about 6' beyond my belt) and then the signing.
Next I waited in line to talk to B-Boe I know, I know, that is not his correct nickname but it is what I choose to call him). I asked him, "I've been hearing that you can throw the ball 70 yards while on your knees, is that really true"? He looked at me .5 seconds and said very seriously, I CAN throw it 65 yards on my knees. I said to him, I am giving only three people the "honor"(? what a self cenetered egotistical SOB I must be or sounded like) of signing my book:
Coach, You, and Jimmy D. Then I said, "you are the man". He responded, "Dixon is the Man". And then he went into several great remarks about Jimmy D., "The Texas Tornado", as I like to call him. Then I went to Jimmy and got him to sign.
1. I am still an OFFoc
2. I still stand with B-Boe as potentially one of the greatest we have ever had here.
3. I still love Jimmy D. and only hope that he is happy and contributes one day as many of us think he has the ability to do. I don't care if he runs straight up down the field or does cartwheels while stuffing the ball into his shirt. I still remain unconvinced that he is not a great yard gainer. First they said he couldn't hold the ball,(so he stopped fumbling or else they quit talking about it) then they said, he ran without bending over(?). I really am uneasy that he got very little to no opportunity during games this year to show exactly how he can run the ball.
Whoops, got off my subject: My introspective nature keeps protruding into my inner most conscience and asking myself. Did I, in giving these three people exclusive signing priviledges pass to them the "kiss of death"? Nah, if I had that power I would be at UGAG's fan day next year and every year with 25-30 media guides in hand. One for each starter to be the "only signee". Thanks if you tolerated this rambling verbage from an OF. I love all you guys/gals.
