The Kiss of Death?

I don't usually wait until fan day to get my Media Guide but this year I did. Then I suddenly got this notion. I love ALL our Tech players, but I decided to get my two favorites and Chan to be the only three that hot the "honor" of signing my book. Well, first there was Chan. Had a nice short convo, picture (where my belly extended about 6' beyond my belt) and then the signing.
Next I waited in line to talk to B-Boe I know, I know, that is not his correct nickname but it is what I choose to call him). I asked him, "I've been hearing that you can throw the ball 70 yards while on your knees, is that really true"? He looked at me .5 seconds and said very seriously, I CAN throw it 65 yards on my knees. I said to him, I am giving only three people the "honor"(? what a self cenetered egotistical SOB I must be or sounded like) of signing my book:
Coach, You, and Jimmy D. Then I said, "you are the man". He responded, "Dixon is the Man". And then he went into several great remarks about Jimmy D., "The Texas Tornado", as I like to call him. Then I went to Jimmy and got him to sign.

1. I am still an OFFoc
2. I still stand with B-Boe as potentially one of the greatest we have ever had here.
3. I still love Jimmy D. and only hope that he is happy and contributes one day as many of us think he has the ability to do. I don't care if he runs straight up down the field or does cartwheels while stuffing the ball into his shirt. I still remain unconvinced that he is not a great yard gainer. First they said he couldn't hold the ball,(so he stopped fumbling or else they quit talking about it) then they said, he ran without bending over(?). I really am uneasy that he got very little to no opportunity during games this year to show exactly how he can run the ball.
Whoops, got off my subject: My introspective nature keeps protruding into my inner most conscience and asking myself. Did I, in giving these three people exclusive signing priviledges pass to them the "kiss of death"? Nah, if I had that power I would be at UGAG's fan day next year and every year with 25-30 media guides in hand. One for each starter to be the "only signee". Thanks if you tolerated this rambling verbage from an OF. I love all you guys/gals.

Whew! Well, that certainly explains alot! Now, who's the SOB who got their book signed by Suggs?

Yellowfalcon: you just cracked me up beyond anything bellyseries has ever done. That was a classic!!!!!!!!! Thanks. I can't quit laughing.

According to the stats, Dixon did not carry the ball a single time this entire season....not one carry.

It shows that he supposedly played in all 11 games and caught 2 passes for a total of 8 yards.

It shows 14 players (including QB's) that had rushing carries this season.

Someone please explain to me why Jimmy Dixon did not get a single carry. It is a disgrace and a waste. And I said so early in the season when we didn't let him carry it against Vandy or Uconn.

The crying shame to me is how much Jimmy Dixon contributes as a Soph and people complain about it.

Why is it such a waste and disgrace beeware?

Terriff....Thanks as always for your observations. I count you as a Tech friend. I just think (at least on my part) that there is concern for the kid himself. Maybe he is fine and I am warped, I don't know. I just hope he is not having second thoughts about why he came to Tech. I guess I let my sentimentality enter into the picture too often, but I just remember the death of his father and how he talked about his father looking down on him and how he was trying to do good for him. I guess I just got too personal. Yes, he did contribute greatly with every opportunity (in my opinion). It just appeared (from the ignorant outsider: me) that he was getting traded around like a gypsey mule. I just have a longing to see him with the ball at least a dozen times or so in one game to see what he can do. If he flops then, I R.I.P. But again, I realize I am peeping through a knothole and don't ever get the whole picture. Would however love to see Chan get someone (if not himself) to stay more in touch with the fans.

Nah, I like your choices actually. Dixon has been a mystery man and so has Bilbo. I'd love to see both of them be our offensive leaders and believe they can be. They definitely have what it takes. Get'em to sign again next time!
