And I mean childish in the sense that I normally only ever expect to hear a child attending a game scream things such as "Reggie sucks!" "You lost this game!"

We lost to Georgia. Yeah, that hurts worse than any other loss. Yes, it puts a bitter flavor on a trip to Jacksonville. It sucks. It sucks worse than most things that can go wrong.

I put alot of emotion into this game all year, so when we lose it hurts more than any other game multiplied by a million.

Blaming a player like some of you are, and cheering for his departure, when all he's done is put us in position to win an ACC Championship and go to a major bowl whether we win or lose - is the lowest form of fan stupidity. You're not dedicated enough that you feel entitled to blame him, you're just selfish idiots that want to throw blame and shame on whoever makes you feel better to bash. Someone called Reggie or James or both a "coward" earlier because of their play. Grow up or put on another set of colors next week, because that sort of ignorant nonsense shouldn't come from the mouths of even the most insatiable Tech fans.

You know what my emotion is? I feel bad that Reggie couldn't get a win in all four starts against Georgia. Before I'd ever spit on his name and blame him like some of you, I'd pat him on the back, say "Thanks for the effort, sorry for the shortcoming" and tell him to go get them next week in Jacksonville.

That is what makes sense. When someone in the White and Gold goes out and tries to bring us a victory but comes up short, you should encourage them - if they have problems or mistakes, fine, discuss them and how they might be corrected in a reasonable manner. But putting him down and grinning at his departure is far more of a black eye on this Institute's athletic program than six losses to our most hated rival could ever be.

And those of you jumping back in to claim that Chan Gailey should go - with about a week before we play in the ACC Championship game - are guilty of nothing more than stupidity.

I support Reggie Ball. I hope he comes out next week and shreds whoever we're playing. I'm damn proud to have him at our school because he has more heart than 90% of this forum combined and it has taken us far this season.

Go Jackets and To Hell With Georgia.

A well articulated post. Excellent points!

Not buying it, sorry. You should change your avatar by the way.

Of course you don't. You're among the population that my post is addressing, and you're not here for objective thought - you're here because you're pissed off and don't know how to handle it.

He probably will, and that is the problem. Reggie Ball never had the balls to beat georgia. Today, he was a selfish player thinking this rivalry owed him something.
I am more concerned with the feelings of the other seniors and those like Tashard Choice that stepped up and played like a man.

I have been ready for RB to compete in another position ever since uga, 2004. Chan never saw it that way. I am happy that time finally won out.

I agree with you that blaming Reggie is childish as he is what he is and he's given it all for us.

The blame rests on Gailey for not getting/developing a better QB.

While I Agree That .....

we shouldn't be directing personal vile toward Reggie, it is an unfortunate fact that he verified his legacy on The Flats today. The bottom line, no matter what the reasons were, he came up subpar against the dawgs when we needed a leader who was going to take us up a step. And he did it every time he had a chance against them. Is this game more important than the other eleven .... No. But it is the single most important game of this and any year.

Even an ACC Championship next week can never erase those facts.

Can you re-state that logically, and explain what implies that Reggie was selfish and thought that the rivalry owed him something?

I know that you can't, but if you would like to try - there is the opening criteria for you to meet.

Reggie (a 4 year, seasoned QB) just got shown up by a Freshman UGA QB. I'm keeping this loss in perspective, but to let Reggie off the hook for his performance tonight is putting ones head in the sand. This was NOT a good game for Reggie. If he plays the same way (fumbles and interceptions) in the ACC Championship game, we will most likely not win it either.

I never said Reggie didn't have a bad game. He did. My point is that he isn't "the blame" for our loss, and he shouldn't be booed out of his career.

Jacket: I'm not going to boo Reggie. I wish him well in his future career but I'm definitely ready for a QB change next year.

6 for 22, 40 yards, 2 int's
-12 yards rushing
1 fumble lost

The Jacket - I'm sorry, you're right, my bad. Reggie rocks.

I'm excited for Taylor to start because I think he might have potential. You and I are essentially in the same boat, I believe. I'm just not anticipating Reggie's leave. I want him to start and I want him to play as well as he's shown he can before.

At least you don't have to worry about addressing the real points when you're not making any of your own.

Really?...

If you really want to do this, I am all in. My initial presentation of circumstantial evidence supported by way too much fact will be delivered tomorrow.

For tonight, I need to get away from the perpetual year end misery of Tech football, and watch a quarterback or two that can lead a team. Go Trojans. Booty may not be the qb Quinn is, but I doubt he costs his team the way RB has the last 4 years.

Childish or not, here's some facts:

22 attempts
6 completions
42 yards
2 interceptions (one gave UGA 3 points)
1 fumble (one gave UGA 7 points)
4 sacks (31 yards lost)
net production in 22 passing attempts: 11 yards

0.1 yards per passing attempt, including sack yardage

For every 1.1 yards he gained as a quarterback, he gave UGA one point on the scoreboard.

If he didn't throw the game on purpose, he must truly be the most horrid QB ever to play on the flats.

0-4 vs Ugay. THAT is how RB will be remembered at Tech. You might not like it and it might not seem fair, but it's true.
