he is making 2.2 and they are giving him a raise :laugher:

I bet spurrier is licking his chops. Nothing hurts like expectations. If St. Richt stumbles this year those trailer park rattlesnakes (ugag fans) will be mighty disappointed.

I am thinking an early loss to USCeast will be the cold shower the ugag nation needs to wake up to reality.

:behead:

This will be the year where Richt really comes under attack. IMO

While I don't think UGA will be the NC this year, I think they will have a good year like every year under CMR. I don't think he is in any way going to get lynched.....unless CPJ owns him.

That might be the only chance we have!

for Ugag to have a REALLY good year they have to beat UF, USC, Tenn, and some years LSU.

Last year Tenn destroyed them and Vandy had the game won b/f a turnover in the final minutes.

When you say Richt always has good years you are talking about from Ugag standards NOT SEC standards. Fulmer, Spurrier, and Meyer have all won national championships w/ ugag type talent.

Richt has had some success but UF and LSU has won Nat titles.

UGAg has at least 3 they will not win this year.

1. USC(east)- Spurrier owns the mutts.

2. UF- The gators wont fall for any of Richt's shenanigans this year.

3. GT- New sheriff in town and he knows the reason that last one got ran out and will not allow that to happen to him.

well said my friend. Let's hope it starts this season. It will be very very tough; however, it is very very possible.

You know, you have a good point. Richt has them a consistent top ten power and he's clearly a good coach. Let's face it, most of us would kill to be where UGA has been the last six seasons.

But GT is not UGA in a lot of ways, most of them good, but clearly not advantageous to football.

How good do you really have to be to win big at Georgia? The program has some immense advantages in the modern era. Richt's real distinction is being the first guy at UGA in at least two decades not to grossly underachieve.

LSU on the other hand has been pretty lucky. They backed into two national title games and a third conference title game, and then won them all. They won a conference title game with a 5-3 league record, a national title with two losses, and a national title with a 19-7 loss at home to an 8-5 team. Yes, the title game wins were impressive, but just getting to them at all took some real luck.

Not to defend them too much, but Georgia had very good teams in 2002 and 2007 that didn't have that kind of luck.

Spurrier at SC doesn't scare me personally. I have made it clear several times that I hope he stays at SC for some years to come.

There is no NO WAY Spurrier will enjoy the same success against UGA while coaching at SC that he enjoyed at UF in the 90s.

UGA is a much better program than it was in the 90s. Spurrier's offensive scheme was an innovative "wake up call" to the SEC in the 90s. It's nothing special these days.

He's still a damn good coach. But so is Richt and co.

I will promise you that Spurrier will leave SC with a losing record versus UGA (during his coaching at SC).

I look forward to enjoying the frustration on his face and the visor throwing.:laugher::woot:

I have to agree with sfalco in this regard. I don't see Spurrier maintaining his dominance over UGA while at USCeast.

On another note, did you notice the tone of the AJC article on Richt's raise.
Richt: Golly gee shucks, I don't really care about money, I'd coach here just for food. Personally, I didn't even know I was getting paid.
Evans: While Richt is already under contract, we just wanted to give him $800k because we couldn't think of any other use for the money, and besides, he is just so darn cute.

So I guess Evans just woke up one morning and decided Richt needed a 40% raise on a whim. Heaven forbid they give Richt a raise for a reason, like making him less attractive to other teams looking for a coach, or making other coaching jobs appealing to Richt.

Interesting... I didn't know much about his background, so I looked him up on Wiki. Born in Nebraska, but played for ThugU. Both schools have been perenial powerhouses, but have suffered here lately. I wonder if there has been any interest from those programs.

Re: ugag

They are going to obliterate the Gamecocks. Mark it down. Last time they went to Columbia they shut The Visored One out.

He's not a genius any more gentlemen. Chan won more games the past 3 years with less natural advantages than Stevie.

The only reason GT should ever put up with Spurrier's Gamecock results is if we admit to ourselves that beating UGA is all that matters. In that sense, he's still only 1-2 against them.

If our coach blew a 28 point lead in a bowl against a half-a$$ed Big 12 team, none of us would think he's a genius.

The Puppies lose at UF and/or Auburn. Barring injuries to Stafford or Moreno, that team is going to roll.

Ideally, we would have an extra week to prepare for them, and they would get Auburn right before us. Unfortunately, they get 2 weeks to prep for Trip Option.

Lawbee obsesses over UGA too much. It wouldn't surprise me to learn that he has a Mark Richt poster on his wall. I'm starting to think he's a closet UGA fan.

I seem to recall Spurrier beating the pups in the crapper just last year...

I see the mutts as pesky. Overrated as NCs. The SEC is just not buying the sales pitch. The pitch will be a pitched battle every time out. Meyer/FL will be hungry for dawg. I guarantee you Awbun will be gunning. UT's lives are on the line. There's no cakewalk to a NC. The SEC will devour itself. LSU comes out on top again.

And, of course, we send them home naked and bleeding after they step into the CPJ Yellow Jacket BuzzSaw!

GO JACKETS! GO TECH!!!

Yes, Indeed !!!

Spurrier is JUST now starting to get HIS players into HIS program at S.C.

They beat the doggies in Athens this last year and it has been close in the 1st couple of seasons Spurrier has been there.

Spurrier didn't go to S.C. to get beat by Ugag...He WILL beat them on a regular basis...Bank on it...

Sfalco and his doggie friends are nervous...:fingersx:
But, they will never admit it.

We now have our own Spurrier, P.J. has a hatred for the Doggies and is just as big of competitor as Spurrier..3 year's from now (Maybe sooner) I.M.H.O. Richt will be on the hot seat. P.J. will be beating him, along with Spurrier and U.F. after that minor blip this past year (With one half of a Tebow in that game, Being injured he could not run, thus taking away his most dangerous element, Lucky Dog's :wow: )

I.M.H.O. The tide will turn on ole Sweet Cheeks over in Athens starting this year!

I love to see a ugag fb team upset. After GT winning Ugag losing is a VERY CLOSE 2nd. I like UF for ONE reason. There dominance over ugag has been unparalleled. :laugher:

Much like ugag over us.

FWIW, im pretty sure UGA has the same record vs us in the past 18 years (maybe even better by a game) as UF has over them.

I seem to remember Godsey holding up 3 fingers in the rain on ugag's field?

I wonder when is the last time Ugag won TIAR against UF?

It's sad that we have come to this actually. If they could count that high, they could hold up seven fingers. problem is, most of them cant get past 5.

The UGA'ers have counted to seven before --in fact it was a decade ago. GT has had the lone distinction in this rivalry of counting to eight. Let's hope that 2008 will be like 1998 --and the Jackets will start with a count of one in Athens.
