Repost. Geez dude, don't come on here and start reposting stuff that's already been posted.

Does anyone have the wide angle picture of the field after the game looking towards the scoreboard? ESPN had a great one.

Incredible. The best is the finish where PJ is waving his arms "NO NO NO" and then how he gets swept away by the excitement on the sidelines. Great stuff.

I really like at about 3:15 where the cameraman right next to Austin in the endzone gets squashed against the padded wall by the whole team.

And he still got a key block.

The entire scene was planned. Milton was back jumping for joy as the play unfolded. The formation of the "picket fence", brought to life by Norman Dale along the west sideline as Lance Austin used it to perfection. Milton's distraction caused by flailing about on the field behind the FSU LOS allowed him to lie in wait to throw a key block. It was a Made for TV moment.

What was up with one of our players laying there next to the fsu guy on the field right after the huge runback touchdown? That was hilarious he just laid there like "öööö this I'm gonna just relax here until the crowd passes over me!"

Maybe he hoped he might trip/block any other FSU players but knew actually tripping them was illegal...

I still can't find an answer to this... why NOT pick up the ball? Why was everyone waving there arms not to touch it? Does it have something to do with getting an automatic play because time expired or something?

If we don't touch the ball, it's a dead ball, FSU can't advance it. In the chaos after a block, you risk a scrum for the ball, fumble, strip, turnover, all sorts of things that tend to happen to Atlanta sports teams if you pick it up. The second we touch the ball, it's fair game. If you watch the replay, you can see Austin look behind him, see nobody is near him and he has no risk of getting tackled, fumbling, and them running in for a game-winning TD, so he picks it up and runs it in for his own game-winning TD instead.

If you don't touch it fsu can not get possession of the ball under any circumstances. If you touch it then they can fall on it and get possession. With time expired that may not matter. Otoh, if we touch it fsu could scoop it up and run into the endzone (or if we fumble).

The safe play is to leave the ball since that means fsu can not score. By picking it up, there was some chance we could lose on that play.

Most of the time, players are instructed not to pick it up because time is left on the clock and we would have gotten the ball at the LOS of the kick. If there was a minute left, the better play would have been to let it die. I think the coaches just got caught up in it.

Google "Leon Lett Field Goal" . Ever since that day the rule is get away from it if it crosses the line of scrimmage.

Looked like a big guy. He was probably exhausted.
