The name's Bond...John Bond...(poss. OC @ GT)

I like his offensive production stats: impressive. would be quite the change in ours...

Per AJC this morning:
N. Illinois' Bond might replace Nix

Northern Illinois offensive coordinator John Bond, who coached the nation's leading rusher last season, is a candidate for the offensive coordinator job at Georgia Tech.
Georgia Tech coach Chan Gailey confirmed Thursday he had talked with Bond but declined further comment.
RELATED STORIES

Bond referred all questions to Gailey.
Bond runs a one-back offense, and his back last season was Garrett Wolfe, who ran for 1,928 yards and 18 touchdowns. The Huskies (7-6) lost to TCU in the Poinsettia Bowl.
Bond, a 1985 Arkansas graduate, has been offensive coordinator at Northern Illinois for four seasons, during which the Huskies set school season records for points, touchdowns, first downs and total offense. He was offensive coordinator at Army from 2000-03 and at Illinois State from 1996-99.
Gailey is seeking to replace Patrick Nix, who left for Miami in January. Miami coach Randy Shannon talked with Bond before hiring Nix, multiple newspapers reported.

well it was early & I wasn't paying too much attention & the name didn't stick out to me immediately....so my bad... LOL

well you know if it makes u laugh then it was worth it....& if it's the worst thing that happens all day then...I'll take it with a SMILE :)

We may get Bond for our players...

Pat Nix may be posting bond for his!

Okay, just a thought, but think through this...
Not too many folks were happy with Nix, at least I know I wasn't (Inability to develop RB as a qb, continuing to call plays that aren't working, lack of committment to the run). Shannon and the folks at scUM interviewed Bond and Nix, and decided Nix was a better OC. So, logically, Bond is less of an OC than Nix, who wasn't that great, to put it lightly.
Of course, logic can often get in the way, so that may be the case here.

Actually, the reason Nix was hired at Miami was because he outcoached the Miami DC this past year, who is now the Miami HC.

It was my impression that scUM interviewed many candidates for OC and were turned down by many before announcing Nix's hire. I don't know if Bond was one that turned down Miami or vice versa, just telling you what I remember from the Miami OC search.

Congrats Nick....lol kidding....John.....aka GOLD BOND.
looking forward to seeing what we do offensively...Sounds like we could have a potent OC on our hands....to go w/ Tenuta's tenacious D....Watch out ND we're gunning for ya!!!

What a sight it would be to hang 40+ on ND next year!!!
