Can there be any residual effects to Ohio St from the Clarett case in terms of the National Championship last year? Is it possible for a NC title to ever be taken away if the offending program subsequently gets into trouble with the NCAA? Don't imagine that OSU is squeeky clean in terms of the Clarett issue.

Looks like the SEC (Auburn) is in the limelight again with allegations resurfacing about paying players.

I'm not sure there's anything to take away. It's not like the NCAA Basketball championship. OSU didn't win anything official, they won the BCS title which isn't the same thing I don't think.

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">Yeah, but they could be forced to forfeit all their games, which I imagine would strip them of their BCS title.

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">Yes if they used ineligible players. There is plenty of precedent. Florida was stripped of their 1984 SEC championship. Michigan recently took down all the Fab Five Final Four banners and removed all of the victories from their records.

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">Only if they get in trouble for something that happened last year.

Alabama got nailed for violations that included one of their players being involved with an agent immediately after they won they championship in 92. The end result was that the went back and forfeited the 1993 season because he played in every game that year.

Basically it's a matter of timing. If Clarrett did something to make him ineligible at any point LAST season, then I believe Miami will be the Nat'l Champ...
