will stand the test of time once again Saturday at high noon.

The winner of the trenches will win the ball game.

I keep having the flashback in my head from last year's game when our OL was used like a trojan by a strong BC defensive front linie!! It was just flat ugly to watch our OL get their hinnies kicked.

The DL was held ALL night long with out nary a penalty against BC beign called.

I do think Coach Sewak will have the gents better prepared for Saturday though.

GO JACKETS!!!

I not only think you are right about Sewak having his boys ready and I also think our D-Line is going to unleash an unholy arsewhoopin' on BC's so called monster OL.

I have reason to believe the D has been carrying a chip on their shoulder ever since last year and they are *ahem* eager to rectify the situation.

Our new defensive scheme which allows the D-Line a lot more latitude is going to help. A lot.

I just hope our back 7 can hold up their end long enough to pull this off. I do NOT see another 60 minutes of BC's qb sitting back there making a sandwich while their OL has our DL in a collective bear hug. I've seen better officiating in the WWF than I saw that night.

I wonder how many holds won't be called against their Oline this year.

AMEN!!!!!!!

It was flat brutal last year to sit and watch that mess take place. I remember starting a thread about all the missed calls or lack thereof.

I didn't think our D line looked particularly good vs Jax State. The much lauded MJ didn't even have a tackle.

We'll see, but they might very well beat us in both trenches. They did last year.

If they call holding like they did last year, I'll bet that CPJ drops the rule about not yelling and swearing at the refs.

I'm hoping that was because Jax St kept 6 back to block and we were only rushing 4.

It was a perfect storm for 93. Didn't feel like he hydrated himself properly during the week, practice temps were in the low 80s for the week or 2 leading up to the game (while game temps were in the upper 90s), and he was accustomed to playing about 15-20 D snaps plus all special teams (now playing all D snaps).

I don't think we'll need to worry about him being ineffective going forward.

Wommack didn't even unleash the defense against Jax State. We'll see a different D and O this week.

He needs to only be on FG and Punt block teams. Everything else needs to go.

RM-2,

We saw our team quit in a game or two under CCG and as hard as I wanted to support him, that one issue gave me more trouble than any to still back the our HC.

I wonder if that happens under CPJ what the results would be. How would he handle a team that quit in a game? From what I've read about CPJ so far, it would seem to be an issue that would never come up. Hope so anyway.

Rome,

Like you, I think it is a non-issue with CPJ. BUT, if it did come about I would think 85 young people would not only get a good earful but they would also have a nice long week of learning how to play through the whistle during 2 hour practice sessions.

It happened to me one time in my coaching days. We had a nice little meeting after the ballgame and I reminded them to bring a bottle of Advil for the next week. I told them I could take getting my arse kicked by someone better but I could NOT tolerate quitting or non effort. Needless to say the next week those 38 gentlemen ran till there feet bled.

Lo and behold we played darn good the next Friday night.
