the problem was that we let it get this far before rejecting him. If the board and Clough are going serve a roll other than oversite then they need to be involved from the beggining.

The way this played out burned bridged both internally and externally and made us looks like a bunch of clowns - which we obviously are.

How do we even know how any of this "played out" ..?

This is ridiculous. You people are making up things to freak out about.

Were you not in the chat with dem last night?

Who cares?

All I hear is, in the absolute worst case, one of four or five good potential hires didn't make it past a vetting committee, and via official sources nobody was even brought before them.

If DRad quits his job because his first guy didn't make it through the vetting process, then he's the pussy, not Clough.

Hey, I read everything Demjackets posted on Stingtalk this year, and the only really insightful stuff that couldn't either be fudged or obtained from another source could have been gleaned by the AA cleaning crew.

I hear a whole lot of TRUST DRAD TRUST DRAD TRUST DRAD from everyone, but when Dan Radikovch himself responds to an email, saying "quell these stupid rumors nobody's been rejected yet," why isn't anyone trusting Dan?

If you people prefer to trust an anonymous internet discussion board poster who could just as easily be 20ozBulldog as anyone else over they guy you keep yelling to trust, then you've got some seriously mixed up values.

Drad's email response did not contradict anything demjackets said. The board rejecting Muschamp did not just come from demjackets either, it was all over the place yeasterday - from multiple 'insider' sources.

Soooo....

....what's the big freakin deal even if they did? It's his job to find someone they won't reject, so he gets to continue doing his job until he finds someone that's right for Tech.

The problem is the board doesn't know jack sh!t about football and hence you end up with the Will Muschamps getting shot down and the Gaileys getting hired.

Like I said in the original post, the problem is the timing and how it went down.

My apologies, beej. You can check my recent posts to confirm that I'm not in "freakout" mode. I think any of the potential candidates would do a fine job. My only worry would be losing DRad over this. The changes he's made so far have been good in my opinion. I've also had a chance to speak with him personally for about 30 minutes, and I truly like the guy. Here's hoping that everything ends for the best.
