THE reason to go to YJA, IMO

The one thing I miss more then anything is waking up on Saturdays, cracking a beer and listening to the drum corp from Fields before heading over to the game.
 
One of the reasons I was not thrilled to hear that GSU was going to field a football team was because we get band members from there, or used to. When I was in school our band was particularly small, today's its nice sized. How many come from outside Tech and will it influence the ability to have nice drum corps, etc.?

It won't affect the drumline that much. I think this year we have 3 GSU students on the line...maybe a couple more, but I don't think so.

The line is 6 basses, 6 quads, 9 snares, and 10 cymbals. The loss of a few won't affect them much.

That's only slightly bigger than Southern (we are 6-4-9-10), GT should be able to pull that in on a regular basis.

That said, it still bears mentioning that a significant part of the band as a whole is comprised of cross-registered students, many from State. While I wish their program the best as it gets off the ground, the hit that the band will take in the future is something that saddens me. I'm not saying that everything is going to fall apart, but there are some good players, and good people who come from schools outside of Tech, and if those people aren't coming over in the future, then that's something that I hate to lose.
