And it appears they actually match the helmet!

So are the gold and blue versions of the tops different than the white ones? Because the arena league tops wouldn't match these more traditional pants...
 
They look like the 1969-1971 throwbacks we wore during that era.

I doubt they'd be wearing game pants in practice, unless it was a wear-test - too expensive.

Touche. I guess I just thought the ones for practice were always plain. These are definitely new, though.

Hope we see em again.
 
These are the pants from the 2006 throw back game against UVA.
 
That picture is so awesome. The pants, uni, helmet...everything about it is great. Not to mention the player.
 
These are by far the best uniforms I've seen us wear. The new uniforms have the same color scheme though, which I like...just not sure about the design.
 
Not necessarily you guys, but I wonder how many people hate our current gold color but love the gold on those throwbacks.
 
Practice Uniforms

Are the pants in the practice picture really our new white uniform pants?

The stripe down the leg will not match with the underarm stripe on the new jerseys. i.e. the thin blue outline from the new white jersey that we've all seen corresponds to a thin blue line on the "old gold" pants that everyone hates. That won't match up with the thick blue and gold stripes on these pants.

I have to believe that the white and navy versions of our new uniform pants would be similar to the gold ones that were worn on saturday at photo day.

Of course we should have! And they were in consideration. Everyone has seen The Machine's leaked cell phone pic with the throwback jersey besides the new jersey. I don't know exactly who made the final decision to scrap the throwbacks, but I wish it had gone the other way.

A good number of folks on these boards are saying that the players choose the new uniforms. I sincerely hope that this isn't true. IMO, it's a mistake to let a group 18-21 year olds -most of whom couldn't yet walk when we won our last national championship- choose uniforms, because they have much less regard for tradition as decade long fans.

51%.... OVER HALF THE FRIGGIN' TEAM choose color schemes that have NO GOLD in them at all!! This poll was a real eye opener for me. These kids play their hearts out, and I love them for it. But they don't seem to care much about the school's traditions. Many of them have only been Tech fans since signing day.

Beej, if your eyes are bleeding just from looking at PICTURES of the new uniforms, you should realize it's serious.

It's unreal isn't it? I love us, GT fans, but we're a mess sometimes.

The color issue will go on and on and on. Just wait till the first game. People will be complaining about what they're going to wear to the game. :biggthumpup:
