The worst part about tonight...

...was not the way we played, or what little respectability we had left this season vanished. It was the number of fans we sent home with a bad taste in their mouths. How many people give Tech a chance, get wrapped up in the hype, come to these games and get sent home disappointed? I know my little sister in HS comes to Tech for every game, screams her lungs out, and generally always gets sent home disappointed. Tonight she came out on a school night, stayed the entire time, and didn't get home until 12:30am. And for what? A ****ty, uninspired, unmotivated performance on the field, just like has happened several times before. I just hope that this wasn't the straw that broke the camel's back for her and other non-student/alum GT fans.

I gave a co-worker and his wife two tickets tonight as I had to take care of my boys(wife out of town). I feel just awful for sending them down there. Hopefully, there will be brighter days.

I must admit, a new coach would do quite a bit to energize things. Looking back at this season, the ONLY real wins consisted of an ND win that ended meaning about as much as beating Samford and two ugly-as-all-hell wins against mediocre Miami and Clemson teams.

Even if we beat UGA, the win would most likely come due to some truly ugly gameplay like the Clemson game and we would just get into the expectation of either beatings or horrible-looking wins. For example, I've come to regard 3rd down on offense as good as fourth; I've expected to never convert those. I've also expected never to have TD passes, to rarely have more than 1-2 1st downs on a drive. Really, I just expect us to never look smooth on offense except for straight-up power running against bad defenses.

So yeah, we'll need a new spark as a fanbase and that probably will happen in a few weeks. For recruiting's sake, I hope DRad doesn't delay the inevitable until after the bowl game.

I'm as die hard a fan as any...and will continue to go to the games. but I don't know how much more I can take.

Is it worth losing my voice over every week? not so much anymore.

worst part? how about the stadium not selling out on with a national tv audience vs a top ranked team? how about midway through the 3rd quarter, the nation sees the stadium emptying? how about the nation and recruits seeing a completely empty stadium with exception to the band and VT students with half a quarter remaining in the fourth? How about the ESPN announcers laughing at tech people dressed in the endzone saying they looked liked teletubbies? pick one.

What about ESPN doing a close up of the Ramblin' Wreck just before the half. The driver inside honks the horn, yells "Go Tech!", and then sort of shrugs his sholders and smirks as if saying "Hey, that's all I got, we're getting our a** kicked."

Given a choice between staying for the fourth quarter or going home and getting ready for work in the morning, most chose to go home. Why not, the Big Boi concert was over. It was like one of those murder scenes in the old movies, "Move along people, there's nothing to see here, move along, keep moving..."

A great marketing plan totally destroyed by a team that just wasn't competitive. It's one thing to lose, it is quite another to get the crap kicked out of you be someone wearing your own jersey. That jersey goes into a trophy case somewhere no doubt.

On the car shot... I think it wasn't the guy shrugging his shoulders as if to say we're getting our asses kicked, but simply he gave his car/cheerleader yell, then simply didn't know what else to do in front of the camera.. pretty funny, acutally.

as for the jersey, I love your line that we got destroyed by someone wearing our own jersey..:laugher:

and we would loan a jersey why ???? How about they are prepared and bring spares. I have a 14 year old who brings both sets of jerseys to each game in case the head coach was misinformed.

You would think that VT would just take a uniform from a guy who wasn't going to see the field --instead of wearing an opponents. I know you don't want your QB wearing #59 or something like that --but there are 5 QB's on VT's roster --borrow from 4 and 5 deep on your depth chart.
