There’s Tech Football Tomorrow

I’m pissed we lost last week. I’ve poured time and money into Tech football and while that time has been relatively short compared to some I feel that I’ve at least earned the right to complain. However there’s a Tech game tomorrow and every time that toe meets leather it has always been the highlight of my week. We can say we are in the end stages of a long tradition, or a drought or whatever you want to say. But as long as those Jackets suit up and play I can tell you I’m excited and cheering for them. That’s what it is to really be a fan. Even if Tech canceled the program I’d still root for the dwags to lose. No matter the result tomorrow this school and the long list of players that came through gave me some of the most fun experiences I’ve ever had, even though I didn’t even go to Tech. We didn’t need a thread about this but I really don’t care.

All of you saying you’re giving up on tech football and don’t care any more all I really have to say to you is eat a bag of dicks.

Well I hate to tell you this. But if you’re rooting for Tech to win and UGaG to lose this year, I’d turn off the radio, TV stay off the internet or start drinking.

Dude, I appreciate your fandom. I’ve been a GT fan for many years. Good years, but mostly bad years. I come back, and I will keep coming back for the atmosphere.

To walk that glorious campus and see the and feel the history there is amazing.

To see friends and acquaintances, amazing.

To know that some of the brightest young minds in the world are just mere feet away from me, amazing.

To know that student athletes come and play for the Jackets and have the chance to change their life forever through the education that they will receive, amazing.

There is no place I’d rather be on a late summer or fall afternoon or evening.

And if you don’t agree with me you can eat a sack lunch off my taint.

Well, I hope GT wins and The Dawgs lose. The Dawgs won’t hold Bama or Florida to zero points like they did Clemson. GT need to stick with the run game.

I’ve been a GT fan my entire life, attending my first game in ‘66 at 16 months old. Despite a 4-year stay in Athens and a degree, there is no way in hell I’d ever become a dawg fan. I was pissed last weekend, which must mean I still care. Let’s win a football game tomorrow - and THWG yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

Ive used that same line many times, and it’s very useful when idiot dwag fans hear the response. Very few ever have a smart ass come back, and their body language is priceless. Simple, classic, and to the point.
 
Been a Tech fan and season ticket holder since the 80s. Can’t come to the games much anymore but will always support the team. No matter how bad things get - I’ve been thru some lean times with this team, we always come back.

We beat the dwags twice just a couple years after 1980 -the year they won an NC with a bought-and-paid for Herschel Walker and we won but a single game.

In 1990, We won an NC two years after losing every ACC game for two years.

We beat the dwags TIAR starting 4 years after B*** L*** ran our program into the dirt.

We will be back. Till then, you’ll find me sittin in the corner drinkin cheap whiskey out of the bottle and smokin cheap cigars and cursing at the TV.
