All trolling aside after this loss, the team needs to really pick it up. They suffered two back to back road losses last year, though due to defense more than anything at that point. Can they bounce back? At least one of these losses included a loss to a top 10 team as opposed to two unranked teams last year.

We are going to learn a lot about how the rest of our beloved college football fall season is going to go the rest of the way come this Saturday at home vs. UNC.

I would like to point to the quote in my thread title. CPJ said this in camp and we all wrote it off as hype management and coach speak to keep the team motivated. However, I think we are seeing that he was partially telling the truth here. It was up to us not to get fooled and we all did after the first two games.

I think we are also seeing that our backfield on offense isn't as plug and play as we might have thought. Injuries certainly have not helped, but the aback and bback positions are not doing their jobs in the blocking side of things. Is it talent? I don't think so. All of them can do things in space with the ball. You don't need talent to block, see former walkon Godhigh for example. Revered as one of our best blockers to date. I think our guys at skill positions haven't had the reps to know their spots nor the appropriate amount of practice on technique getting their guy down. Unfortunately, some of the pundits were at least a little correct in that only having one starting RB returning would hurt. And it is.

The only position group that has absolutely no excuse is the offensive line. I cannot find a legitimate reason for their sheer suckage. They are the most experienced and talented line PJ has had to date. Even without Shaq. We are deep on the OLine, yet the block themselves rather than the other team. Can this get fixed?

We will find out Saturday. Onward. Let's see what they are made of.

If CPJ can't whip a team into shape after being here 8 years then it is his fault

Just because a guy like Godhigh isn't your your prototype for RB at this level doesn't mean the kid wasn't talented. He was quick, decisive, and had the will to overcome his size. The will seems to be lacking on this offense. They seem to line up then see something unexpected and lose their composure. I find it hard to believe they are seeing something magical that ND just stumbled upon. Getting beat to space or giving half ass blocks (at all positions not just OL) is fixable. This isn't the first time teams have lined up oddly against us.

Alls I know is that the past two teams had their defenses adjusted as well to our offense as any I've ever seen. Screw around with the OLine's assignments and confusion reigns. If we can adjust to that and eliminate the confusion on the line we've have a legitimate shot at correcting this problem. That and of course play calling in general. A defense that won't just stay in place and allow the offense to carry out out it's assignments is proving problematic. How to fix that? Go get 'em, Paul!

It isn't like we haven't faced this many times before. The difference is our OL isn't adjusting to the right blocks. We should be able to pass against the D we have seen the past two weeks. But, our OL isn't blocking so JT has no time to throw. The counter has worked OK, because both D have attacked with abandon. Our OL is barely chipping the DL. They should be embarrassed.

I resent the statement that Godhigh didn't have talent because he was a walkon. He has more talent than anyone playing AB for Tech at the moment. EABOD taxjacket and gfys.

Apparently, the "one week to prepare" is being turned on us. Teams will now invest considerable amounts of time presenting a D we cannot possibly prepare for in a week.

The irony is deep.

Is two back to back losses equal to 4 losses?

Also, our back to back losses last year were not both on the road. Unless I am missing something?

Thank you. I was afraid every single person had no clue .

I'm not impressed w/ Skov. Nothing against the guy, I'm sure he's a great student of the game and goes all out. But he's not adding much value to the b-back position.

Agree. I guess now we can stop the talk of the B-Back being a position that requires little or no other RB skills (vision, cutting, etc.). I've heard a lot of that from people over the years.

It's not a bull in a china shop position as so many like to make it out to be.

Duke was in Atlanta. Remember, lightning delay? And don't worry about four losses, they will come soon enough.

It comes down to recruiting a few years ago.

http://www.stingtalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=70347

Yeah, you have all the issues with recruiting rankings, but the 2013 class had 14 commits.

https://rivals.yahoo.com/georgiatech/football/recruiting/commitments/2013

Maybe it was that DRad held the pursestrings so tight on recruiting assistants. The recruiting certainly took a huge swing upward around when Bobinski replaced DRad.

Wow, look back at that 14 commit list:
Justin Akins, Ty Griffin, Darius Commissiong, Kevin Robins, Travis Custis, and Donovan Wilson all left. That leaves 8 recruits in that class.
