Just because we can...
Who'd you like to meet in the ACC Championship game? BC? WF? Clemson rematch?

Who'd you like to meet in the Orange Bowl (of course assuming we win the ACC)? I heard Auburn is a likely at-large selection.

Maryland is still in there as well. I would prefer it not be wake. Nothing against them, but a wake/gt championship game would be viewed as a snoozefest by the national media and we would be lucky if the stadium were half full.

I would love to play a 1 loss SEC team if we made it to the OB. 1 team I would not want to play - loser of Michigan/OSU.

In doing some analysis, taking the top 16 and reviewing their remaining schedules and projecting their final records, one thing I do want to see happen is for GT to win out their remaining games (of course being a GT fan I would want to see this happen under any circumstance :D ).

Most of the BCS teams will have either 0 or 1 loss, with a couple of SEC teams and Notre Dame having 2. GT already has 2, we don't want GT to be the only 3-loss team in the BCS.

I won't list my prog's for all the bowls, because honestly, I do not know the pecking order this year as far as what bowl gets to pick first, second, etc. There is a BCS championship game along with the four major bowls this year, so there will be 10 teams in the mix.

If GT finishes 11-2 and wins the ACC championship (persumably over BC), I see an Orange Bowl against one of three teams:

Auburn (11-2), Tennessee (10-2) or perhaps Wisconsin (11-1). I would prefer Tennessee from these possible opponents. With an entire month left in the season this could absolutely change, but for now, this is simply just one scenario.

Dude, is it possible we could have a ND rematch for the Orange Bowl?

ND rematch is very unlikely because the Orange Bowl picks next-to-last in the pecking order. The Sugar Bowl picks just ahead of the Orange, and they love ND.

especially since we'll be opening up with them next year. Didnt that happen to FSU/UM a few years back?

It will likely be either the loser of the SEC Championship or loser of WV/Louisville Thurs. night.

Pac10 could sneak their runner-up in.

Sounds good to me.

Just curious - what are the chances we pull Boise?

That is what everyone is fearful of...getting a "nothing to win/everything to lose" game like Boise State or Rutgers. Heck...even WVa and Louisville still have chips on their shoulder because the country does not show them much respect. I want to stay away from all of those guys.

I want the SEC big time.

I Dunno Who I Want To Face

But I think it'll be BC or Clemson.

Look at the remaining schedules of WF, BC, and Maryland.

BC plays WF, Md, and Miami.

WF plays BC, Md, FSU, and VPI.

Md plays Clemson, Miami, WF, and BC.

Clem plays MD, NCSU.

I don't see any of them running the table. I think WF finishes 4-4, Md finishes 5-3, BC finishes 6-2 or 5-3, and Clemson finishes 6-2. BC has the tiebreaker over Clemson.

Brutal schedules.

Miami has 4 tough games left. They will lose 1 to 4 of them. Virginia and VPI both have tough schedules, including playing each other. We have the tiebreaker with each.

This puts into perspective that we have beaten the best other teams in our division, plus Maryland. We've had the brutal part of our schedule, and we've excelled. Amazing to go 4-1 in that stretch. Amazing.

Wow, that's a meatgrinder. There is no telling who's going to win that division. Clemson got damn lucky getting their win over Wake. I hazard to guess that nobody wins out, but think that any one of those teams could lose every remaining ACC game they have just as easily.

Regarding the Big East, West Virginia, Louisville and Rutgers still have to play each other. If West Virginia goes undefeated they have an outside shot at the BCS Championship game, and the Big East will not get an at-large. I expect the winner of Louisville/WV to run the table, but in L'ville's case, they will not get to the BCS c-ship and would prpbably end up in the Orange.

Boise St. I have sort of overlooked. They still have two road games @ San Jose St. (5-2) and @ Nevada (5-3). If they go undefeated I don't know if they get it the BCS, they are #14 in the BCS standings right now.

I really want a GT/Tennessee match-up if GT does indeed earn a trip to the BCS and the Orange Bowl. I think that would be a good match-up for the Jackets.

I would say zero chance the Orange Bowl gets Boise State. The Fiesta Bowl picks last, so if Boise State qualifies, that is where they will go.

This is a real longshot right? I don't see any way the BE gets 2 teams in, most likely the loser of this game will be in the Gator Bowl.

West Virginia is already #3 and Louisville is already #5 in the BCS. Either team has way better than an "outside" shot at the championship game by winning out.

In fact, Louisville's shot is actually better than West Virginia's, because they have a higher computer-based ranking right now. They are only lacking poll votes and they will get plenty of those if they beat West Virginia.

Even Rutgers has a higher computer rating than WVU, but they would have to fight more serious poll inertia to get there.

I agree...the only way things could get messed up would be if Rutgers and Boise St. each went undefeated...and neither went to the BCS Championship. Then, Rutgers would likely go Orange and Boise to the Fiesta.

Most likely scenario is Ohio St/WVa in BCS Champ. Boise St. in Fiesta....and SEC runner-up in Orange. Louisville and Rutgers in a non-BCS bowl.

I think the BE gets two BCS teams in before the ACC does, this year, based purely on media hype.

I bet that neither will have two.

The at-large bids will go to the SEC, Big 10, Pac10, and Notre Dame.

just my opinion.

Well you know what the Rose is gonna be, Ohio St/Mich loser vs. USC/Cal. No way the Big East gets 2 teams in the BCS. I think WVU goes undefeated and gets the 2 spot over the SEC teams based on their performance last year against the hydrant humpers. If Louisville or Rutgers wins the Big East, I doubt they get the votes to bring them ahead of the SEC champ. So SEC champ, probably Florida, will host the Sugar and they'll probably grab Notre Dame. Then we'll host the Orange and they'll like that Regional matchup of ACC/SEC so it'll be a close call on who's higher after the SEC championship game, the loser(Auburn or Arkansas) or Tennessee who won't have played, I say Tennessee stays higher. Fiesta will be hosted by Texas and will either be stuck with Boise St. or if they lose then take USC/Cal loser.

Just my humble predications, but...
BCSCG
Ohio State vs. West Virginia

Sugar Bowl
Florida vs. Notre Dame

Orange Bowl
Georgia Tech vs. Tennessee

Rose Bowl
Michigan vs. USC

Fiesta Bowl
Texas vs. Cal
