sure is a bunch of fast football players. Chan said that he wanted to get this team bigger and faster. It seems that he's recruited both of those qualities. I believe that we'll prolly have a Top 35 or so class. It's going to be up to Chan and the staff to turn these big, fast guys into football players. It seems that Wednesday will be a positive sign in our program. I, for one, am glad to see it.

Disappointed in giving the state to the Dawgs. Need more emphasis on South Georgia. Could we possibly be waiting for an answer from someone from this area or the Atlanta schools?

I agree IndianBuzz. Should be a solid class that will help us where we need it most.

As for this class it's shaping up pretty nice. Sure I'd like see more Ga players but I don't care if they come from PoDunk Hi School in PoDunk Tx, Ind. or any other place if they can play the game and want Tech to be part of their history.

besides one recruit .. the rest of our recruits as of today are from Georgia, Florida and Texas.

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">I share some of your concern with lack of GA recruits. But overall, this is going to be a good class, it seems. I think that next year, with some experience under his belt, Chan and his assistants should be able to establish more of a presence in GA. They needed a year to get some contacts in place. For this year, I think the staff went to the states where they were the most comfortable and had the most contacts.

It would be good to start establishing a presence in South GA. Chan being from Americus should help with that. Nix being from WR should also help.

Hopefully, this class will only be the tip of the iceberg for things to come. As disappointing as the football season was this year, I really feel like this is as solid a class anyone could ask for. Could it have been better? Sure, but it could have been a lot worse with the smell of unrest in the air. I hope Chan will continue the hard work and give us plenty to look forward to in the future. As far as the presence of South Georgia recruits, you have to understand a few things. First of all, in my area(Albany, GA), people are predominantly Georgia, Auburn, and Florida State fans. I get frustrated to no end with the lack of GT coverage on the local new stations. Second, a lot of the Blue chip recruits you see from down this way take a year or two or three before they are elible to play. School systems are not up to par(I know this is a generality, but it is a fact) in this part of the state. Now with all that being said, all it takes is a good year and some hard work, maybe GT can become a major player in the State of Georgia.

Bugboy, Nix is not from Warner Robins, Ga. or any where else in Ga. He lived in Alabama and played his high school ball there and after he went to Auburn his father was hired to coach Northside High School in Warner Robins. But he should have a presence in Warner Robins by virtue of his Father"s influence. I have been impressed with this young coach.

"Nix being from WR should also help."

His dad still coaches down here (and may help w/ some connections), but I don't think Patrick ever lived here or played ball in WR.
