Just thought I'd dig up this gem for fun since you insulted the gods of fate and caused our loss. I blame you. ;) When you are a GT fan, mojo is everything. See the book "Dodd's Luck".
:laugher:
Of course they earned it last year, and last year's team deserves all the respect in the world for being national champions. But it's completely and totally irrelevant to our game. I find more relevance in the 12 games they've played this year since their championship win.
More relevant still, is their most previous stretch of games. They took Alabama to the wire and lost, after which they've been playing rather poorly. On the other hand, our last two games have given us nothing but reason to be optimistic.
There are a lot of reasons to be excited and to be persuaded to believe that we may beat LSU handily. You're pretending that we're a team like Florida marking down a W against a team like Vanderbilt and looking ahead to the next game. We've been playing really well, our opponent has not. We've proven ourselves this year - LSU needs to prove they can stop us. It's okay to believe you're the better team going into a game and not worry about jinxing your team's fate with your audacity.
I love that the same board that's been telling everyone to stop comparing this team to and drawing correlations to the Chan Gailey era is absolutely petrified of a repeat result of a game that happened under George O'Leary nearly a decade ago.
Get over yourself plzkthx
