I need some football talk. Let's talk about this week's ACC games.
ND-Wake: postponed because ND has a Covid outbreak. I wonder how many games will end up getting postponed, and if they'll be able to make them all up. I'm also very curious what our Covid situation is (given some mysterious absences from last week's game), and curious to see whether we can make it through the season without having to move any games (which also depends on the opposing teams not having any outbreaks).
GT-Syracuse: Syracuse seems to have a bad offense. I hope this is a "get right" game for us and that we can take care of business against a team that's struggling.
As an aside, when I looked at the standings, I see that Syracuse is 15th in the ACC (0-2), but we've dropped to 8th (1-1). Is the win percentage thing for the ACC championship actually counting the OOC game as part of the standings, or is the Score app just doing it wrong?
Louisville-Pitt: Two top-25 teams (aided by the teams that aren't playing), but this doesn't seem like a particularly compelling matchup to me other than to scout some future opponents. I kinda hope Pitt wins, because I have residual Petrino resentment for Louisville.
Duke-UVA. UVA finally gets to play a game in week 3 of the season. Duke's looked bad so far, and UVA might be coming back to reality after Perkins' departure.
Texas State-BC. We were literally the only team in the ACC to schedule a real OOC game.
Florida State-Miami. Florida State looks pretty bad, so as much as I'd like them to start Miami's 2020 tailspin, I don't see it happening.
NC State-VPI. Why is VPI #20 despite not having played a game. I somehow missed that this game had gotten postponed from week 1. It sounds like VPI will be shorthanded and still isn't sure if they will be able to play pending more tests this week. Even though we don't play VPI this year, I still don't like them. Go Pack.
