is he going to play for unc against us? that team is completely different with him @ helm. i'm hoping not. any info would be appreciated.

He was cleared for practice today.. but coaches say hes way away from being in game shape. I would rather have him than Sexton. Sexton has a lot of confidence right now.

Not sure what is making you believe UNC is a completely different team with Yates starting at QB but Cam Sexton has been doing as good a job as their starting QB, if not better.

In fact, Cam has been doing so well that Butch Davis said that he will be starting regardless of Yates' status.

A QB controversy for our opponents is exactly what we need.

I think I'd rather have a rusty QB coming off an injury than a QB humming along in midseason form. Sexton is a damn fine QB.

Hakeem Nicks scares me.
been out of loop. i know we've been injured in the secondary...someone with a concussion, and jwd(is he going to be playing?
what about m. burnett playing h. nicks man on man and have cooper taylor playing the rover spot?

Hakeem Nicks scares me.

Yep. This is going to be best passing team we'll face in the ACC. Our secondary got a good taste of what's to come with FSU but they must play better than that if they want to keep UNC out of the endzone. I'm so glad that I'm reading that we are going to get Dominique back.

Hakeem is topping the ACC in terms of receiving yards while Cam is topping the conference in terms of QB rating.

We've seen two different passing attacks from UVA and FSU, and one of them beat us and the other almost did. UNC is better and more consistent than both passing the ball and we really need Reese and Jahi back. Burnett is our best defensive back, but he can't play all 4 positions at the same time.

At least we'll have Reese back for this game

ALSO...

Peterson and Reid have gotten some great game-day experience.

Building depth while winning feels really really damn good.

At first blush, I don't like the way we match up with Carolina, particularly their offense vs our defense.

They are probably the best passing team we will have played to date. UVA has a good passing team, but their vertical passing game is not as dangerous as UNC's. Without Jahi, UNC is positioned to take advantage of our talented, but young secondary. Last game UNC hung 45 pts on BC at Keenan and they'll have two weeks to prepare for us and get healthy.

Defensively, they have stopped the run well, but then again, FSU was supposed to stop the run well. Against the Triple, what does it really mean? IMO, if Nesbitt can practice and play well we'll move the ball. If not, we could be in trouble starting a true frosh on the road.

In terms of ST's, they return kicAk offs very well, and we have work to do on coverage. Otherwise it looks like a wash.

Intangibles: We are coming off a big, emotional victory. A lot of times a young team can be flat/depleted afterwards. How will we respond? We've been a good road team and seem to relish the challenge. Do we have one more in us?

My keys: a healthy Nesbitt + a decent pass rush + limiting turnovers = good chance for a GT victory. Any of those missing and it will be hard to steal a road win.
