Son-in-law and I just returned from Atlanta last night. Have read a few threads and thought I would share a few of mine.

Look forward to your responses to each, some, or none of the following thoughts.

1. Was embaressed that my son-in-law had to watch this crap. He was going crazy with me after the first big pass, then downhill from there.

2. Sad to say that all of us left with 7 minutes to go in the third quarter. I have NEVER left BDS before the end of a game. NEVER!!!

3. Never have I felt worse about GT Football than I do now. Not even the BL years.

4. We take a KNEE with 14 seconds left. IMO that shows a defeatist attitude. Maybe something bad can happen, but what GOOD happened the first 29 minutes of the game.

5. I will say it was good to be in BDS with Mover, nephew, sister-in-law, and son-in-law.

6. The time for change is NOW!!!! IMO, we do not wait until the end of the year. Turn the reigns over to JT. I personally would like to see what John Bond has to offer without the influence of the head coach. I bet we would like what we see. 6 years of this continuous up down, up down, up down roller coaster ride is enough.

7. Our fan base is divided because of many issues. It is time we re-group and let a new coach re-unite the base and move forward. The pissing and moaning and negativity takes a toll on us all.

8. Coaching possibilities in no particular order:
A. Randy Edsall
B. Norm Chow
C. Dan Mullin
D. Paul Johnson

9. No matter what happens I will bleed gold and white and will cheer the brave and bold. 35 year fan and will be a fan till the day I move on.

10. It was great to see Mover, Hester, and the kids. Anytime you can spend time with family is a good time. Eventhough the Mover and I had "words" last night over a damn cooler when we were pissed about the game, we could share a good breakfast at Waffel House. BTW, I WHOOPED his ARSE!!!!!

GO TECH!!!!! BEAT DUKE!!!!!

Mover2, the problem I have with making a change now is that it often leads to a premature decision on the next coach. Look at Duke. They gave Ted the job on an interim basis, they actually played well in the last 4-5 games and they were stuck with him. I mean, how do you not hire the guy who just won some big games and almost beat TN? Now they're paying for not doing a proper search.

If we gave the job to JT to finish out the year and we beat ugag, could we look for another coach? Maybe he would be our choice anyway, but you could severely limit your choices.

Mover2, I am friends with Mover and look forward to meeting you! I enjoy reading your posts!

NC, if he could beat UGag I would make him head coach and King for life.

Actually, our fan base is a lot more united now; just in a negative sort of way.

NC,

first, thanks for the response. that very well could be the case, I can't argue that point. BUT, look where we are now. There has been NO progress IMO from year one to year 6. Just because he finishes out the year does not mean he gets the job. Remember Coach McWhorter?

NOt sure I agree with the limiting our choice statement but that is ok. We are here to debate what our opinoins are.

I know one thing, I am worn out, as many of us are, from dealing with what we have put on the field over the past six years.

Lets see what happens!!

LOL, wouldn't we all ramblin!

GAWD how I would love to beat the nad lickers.

I did buy me a t-shirt yesterday which says

"My two favorite teams are GT and ANYONE who is playing UGAy"

Can't wait to wear it for the nad licker fans down here in Florida!!!!

Very very very very good point aeromech. Sad to see it this way.

I truly believe our great institution is one of the top 10 in the country in relation to tradition and what we stand for on The Flats. To see our program at this level just really hurts.

Let's hope for better things in the VERY near future.

GO TECH!!! BEAT THE BLUE DEVILS!!

Mover 2 Your nephew is a smart little boy. When I was 5 years old my father (Tech grad class of 1950) asked me in front of my 5 uncles "what's the good word" To Hell with Ga! was my unrehersed reply.

I personally would not promote Tenuta. Damn fine football coach but just don't see the qualification for being a D1 HC.

We need a fix not a replacement.

He's the MAN artesian!! I had to hear for myself in person before we went down Thursday night and he made me PROUD!!

I agree with you gnats, BUT we need someone to run the program in the absence of the current head coach. If CJT does not work out the so be it, but for the time being let's see JT run the show.

Personally I want to see JB offense WITHOUT interference.

This is not the conservative NFL, it is college football.

That didn't happen after the whatever it was bowl that Mac McWhorter coached us to a good win in. All the players liked him, he seemed to have the team well prepared and all, but they still went out and got CG. I don't think DRad is that short sighted as to give the HC job to someone for one good win, even if it is Ugag. I would buy him a Rolls or something, though.

The bowl win under McWhorter was nice, but basically meaningless. What I would be worried about would be an interim coach beating ugag, breaking the streak and tieing our hands on making a permanent replacement. My thinking is you don't do anything until the year is over unless you're real damn sure you're willing to keep the interim guy. I mean, think about it. There was no question O'Leary was going to get the job when he picked up for Lewis. Mac was told clearly that he wasn't going to get the job.

NC, I agree with much of what you say, but IMO we need a change NOW. I don't think the interim is a lock, but I could be wrong.

Win or lose the rest including Georgie, we go get the best possible candidate out there. I trust D Rad to do just that. He is capable of making the decision of who should run our program the next few years and I believe he would be very thorough in the selection process.

I don't care how miserable I am, the WORST thing DRAD could do is fire Chan before the day after the UGA game. That's just stupid and its assinine to suggest it.

I want Gailey gone to, but you don't make knee jerk decisions to get rid of him. You have a plan and you execute it. That plan should be to have your coach pretty much in place before you fire Gailey. We DO NOT want some long coaching search after O'Leary left. We want a quick transition and a change made before the bowl game. Its really that simple.
